I only popped in here to get a warm drink. I was in the area, saw it was new and decided to look at the menu on the website before going in. Since I saw a pretty extensive latte and beverage menu, I decided to go in. But the experience wasn't what I'd hope it would be. There was one person ahead of me in line but once they had left the register area, I was left standing there for like 2 minutes while various workers just walked past me. They did make eye contact with me but they didn't even give me a 'we'll be right with you' statement. The beverages listed on the chalk board within the store are different than what is on the website. I had come in with an idea of what I wanted but when I saw the in-store menu looked different, was trying to figure out what I'd actually be able to order. I tried to order a hot sea salt latte, only to be told that it was iced only. And I absolutely understand that so I said I'd love something hot and asked the cashier if all other lattes had a hot option - he just gave me a blank look. Okay. Decide to just go with a hot mocha so that I can be out of there. The mocha took a few minutes to make and once I got it, I could tell the cup was only 75-80% full but I just want to leave at this point and go to the starbucks across the street. Mocha is what's you'd expect it to be, so it wasn't bad but it certainly wasn't the treat I thought it would be.
Maybe I'll give this place another shot and try their food, which looked good. But in terms of a getting a cup of coffee, I was less than impressed...
Read moreI’m writing this because I want you to succeed. I’ve been to Jubilee twice, and i really love the setup of the restaurant. It almost immediately takes me back to Asia, where these kinds of cafe/restaurant combo are popular. However, I have to say, the food is extremely extremely overpriced. Both of the times I went, the business does not seem so good, and I am almost certain the price is the issue. The customers have to pay around $25 for a regular seafood pasta, and $10 for a potato soup. I genuinely think there’s something wrong with the cost control / procurement of the ingredients that drives the price so high. If you go to any restaurant in the DFW area with a similar positioning, atmosphere, and quality, they are at least 30% cheaper than Jubilee.
The food is kinda inconsistent as well. The cream sauce seafood pasta was amazing, but the squid ink pasta was very bland and boring. The $10 potato soup is good but the quality probably only worth $4.99.
I like the idea of self ordering from the tablet, even though by doing so there’s close to zero service provided. I don’t mind at all, but I’m also guessing the owner is trying to build the tips into the price, and no additional tips is expected (hence the high price). I want to tell the owner this is not working out because it’s not communicated to the customers. Your price tag is just going to scare people off.
I really want to like the restaurant. I’ll probably give it one last chance sometime...
Read moreCame here because I wanted to try the pasta and desserts. The cafe is very cute and calming. The seats are very comfortable and soft. Each table has a lamp that you can adjust and a tablet to view the menu (with photos) and place an order. This is super convenient.
The food came out really fast, within 5-10 minutes. We ordered 2 drinks, 2 pasta, 1 salad, and a dessert. The Jubilee tea with flavor is basically tea with fruit syrup and an ice shaped bear. It was cute, but I wouldn't order it again.
The pasta was delicious. We ordered carbonara and seafood tomato pasta. The carbonara was the best one we've ever had. The dishes had the perfect size serving, and the taste was to my liking. We ordered a cappuccino cake. I don't like sweet dessert, but this cake was pretty good. The food presentation was beautiful.
Looking at each individual dish, it is pricey, ranging from $20-30. Drinks are anywhere from $6-10+. With 2 drinks, 3 dishes, and 1 dessert, the bill came out to $87 (plus tax).
Overall, for the service, quality, vibe, and presentation, it is not pricey and definitely worth a try. I will come back here for...
