Lin's Asian Buffet — Restaurant in Carrollton

Buffets in one form or another may offer the same thing in common. This holds true with Chinese buffets. It is my opinion that what sets them apart is the quality of food, service, and how clean the establishment is.

Lin's Asian Buffet may not be the best in it's class, however it is by far one of the better places to go to when you want to binge out on good Chinese food. The price is very reasonable. Lin's have always been our go-to place for Chinese buffet. We've dined at Lin's numerous times and at different hours. I have observed the following:

To begin with, they have a wide selection to choose from may it be hot or cold dish to desserts. The quality of food and ingredients are always fresh. The amount of food on the buffet is propionate to the number of diners. Thus, the turn over of food is frequent.

The salt and pepper shrimp and octopus has always been my favorite. The pepper beef, barbecue, baked oysters and mongolian stir fry are also excellent. Their fish does not have that fishy smell or aftertaste that some buffets do.

Secondly, the service is great! The wait staff are always on top of things, removing empty plates, refilling drinks and always catering to their customers' needs. Some places leave your plates stacked so high that it could almost topple over.

Thirdly, the place is clean. The tables are clean and the floors are swept frequently from debris. The buffet station is often wiped clean from food drippings making it very presentable and pleasing visually.

Lastly, In some buffets you smell like you just left the kitchen. Here, the ventilation is good. When you leave the place you do not smell as bad as some of these buffet places.

If you're into Chinese buffets, this place is a must try for you. I highly recommend Lin's Asian Buffet in Carrollton. It offers a wide selection of dishes at a reasonable...

I went there last week, and I went there again this week, because it's SO DELICIOUS! Sunday lunch has an amazing selection, I do not care at all that it costs more, it truly is that good, because they have a phenomenally cooked roast beef. Why is there a roast beef at a traditionally Asian buffet? I do not know, nor do I really care, it is suuuuper juicy and delicious, every bite is packed full of flavor that just a little sprinkle of salt and pepper brings out beautifully!

Everything else there is great too! Their chicken dumplings, pork ribs in red sauce, fried fish and chicken wings, chicken skewer, their long green beans and onion are all FANTASTIC! Also their fried shrimp, fried frogs legs (Yes! Frogs legs! You HAVE to try them!), fried donut bread, fried banana, tons of fresh fruit, heck, even their orange fruit Jello is amazing! I don't know what they use to make it opaque instead of clear, probably real fruit juice of some sort, but it is perhaps the best Jello I have ever had! Such a small, little thing such as extra-juice Jello blew me away as delicious!

You gotta get there early, especially if you want some of that roast beef. I got there around 12:15-12:30pm, and it was gone by the time I left around 1:30. And service is great too! The wait staff are quick to refill your drink, hardly ever letting it get down to half before asking to refill it. I tip extra, and you should too!

Seriously, you HAVE to try them on the weekends when they got a roast out, you won't regret it! I don't know if they put out a roast on the weekdays, but they got a great weekday...

This place is OK. The upside is the variety of Asian food is incredible. They have a Mongolian grill, sushi, Chinese food, Japanese food, an octopus salad, shrimp, and more. The pricing is very good. The wait staff is very polite.

The down side is their food quality ranges from mediocre to worse. I go there because my boss likes it and luckily they have a lot of variety where I can find something that tastes decent. I usually can find something that is decent though it has been a trial and error process. When I go there next time, I probably go with the Mongolian grill or perhaps I'll keep experimenting and see if I can find something I like. The variety of food they offer is vast...

They had a fried banana dish that I was expecting to be dessert like. It was not. It tasted like hot bananas without any sweetner. Perhaps this is a cultural thing. For I once went to a Vietnamese wedding and their wedding cake was only slightly sweeter than white bread. So perhaps my American taste buds are accustomed to too much sugar...

It seems to me they just have too vast of food selection to hope to maintain a quality food product. The place seems to be about a third full every time I go there so other people seem to find a reason to go there. It is not a terrible place it just doesn't excite my taste buds... Price is good, wait staff is polite, selection is incredible...it just is the food is not...
