If I could give a zero, I would. I'm so upset by what happened last week. It is unexcusable!! My husband and I have been coming since the opening. At first it was a nice place to eat. GLUTEN FREE deserts, too. About 4 months ago, I had lunch, and I only ordered the clam chowder. After eating it, I spent 1 hr in their bathroom sick. The restroom was filthy, black scuffs all over the floor and walls, and the baby changer was so filthy that I wouldn't put my clean dog on it. Last week, we visited again. My husband ordered a cheese burger. He asked for condiments with his meal. It came out as a burger without cheese, and he asked again for the condiments. He waited an additional 3 or so minutes while the meal started to cool down. The waitress never came by to refill his tea, so it was a difficult meal to eat. I did not order. We came for the GF deserts. Christy and Tio, I'm very positive you would recognize us by sight. We support local businesses. We are entertainers and have recommended your restaurant to friends, fans and family. I'd like to believe that through people and good customers like us help make a business thrive. A reheat was offered, but the Health Department should know that your staff is taking touched and served food back to the kitchen to be reheated back on a grill to add cheese. He didn't jump for that over cooked, dried out burger option, so he refused. When the bill came, we were not charged correctly, and I asked for the adjustment. That request was met with a firm "NO!" I asked for a manager, and Karen stepped in back as I overheard her speaking illy of me. Both Karen, the waitress, and Karen, the manager, said they would not take off the cheese charge on the bill. I addressed that I heard them both making rude comments about me and my husband. Even then, they did not care to treat me with dignity, as they continued to be rude. We were ready to walk out. Karen, the manager, completely refused to charge us the meal that was delivered. I saw another woman working not in a uniform, and I went to talk to her. She was very professional and said she wouldn't charge us. But as we were leaving, we were followed outside by the waitress Karen. She was yelling things at me, and then, CAME HER THREAT! She said, "IF I WASNT IN THIS UNIFORM I would kick you A$$". This is a very concerning threat! I had to call the police and report the incident. I was given a case number. Karen also yelled out to me, "You're not welcome here. Don't ever come back." She's got that right, but that choice is mine. I hope you reach out to me. I would very much would like to talk...
Read moreI live in the Metro Atlanta area. But . Periodically I like to just get up get in the car and head for some smaller towns just to see what's happening. On a previous occasion I happen to see the little Hawaiian restaurant in downtown Carrolton. I can't remember the dish but I'm sure it was Salmon and I enjoyed it. Recently I got my girlfriend to take a few steps out of her comfort zone, as a retired nurse, she's very leery about being around a lot of people with the covid epidemic, who refused to accept the seriousness of the disease.
We headed to Carrollton via the GPS. However, I did not know little Hawaiian restaurant had moved. So when the GPS kept taking us to the new location, I kept going thinking it was wrong and kept driving to the old location. I laughed when I realized I was the one that was wrong, and the GPS was right.
First thing we noticed, which was a very important to her, was that they had outside seating. She won't eat in any restaurant that does not have it. We secured a nice table in the corner where a lot of people wouldn't be passing by us. She was really glad to see that the wait staff had mask on, and that made her relax. The staff was friendly and cordial. I ordered a pasta dish with crab and she ordered the salmon. I had her get the large portion so I could taste some of her food.
My pasta was good, although it could use a little bit more crab. But her salmon was totally off the chain. I will be ordering that from now on.
Bottom line she really liked that new restaurant location, even though she never been to the old one like I did. She thought the food was excellent, the staff friendly, and the alfresco eating experience to be divine.
So yes I definitely approve of the new location and the fact that you can eat outside in...
Read moreAll-around okay experience here. I've only been once, and it was with a big birthday party (15ish people). It seemed like maybe they were short-staffed or something. We were there for a long time before the owner's wife came out and personally asked us if we had gotten bread yet and apologized for it being late. The appetizers some people ordered ended up coming out with their meal after they asked politely about it (the owner's wife took it off the ticket; she was upset for us). My husband has celiac disease and needed to know what menu items didn't contain gluten, but the waiter we asked had no idea, and when he went to ask about a particular dish, he never came back with the answer. We were finally told (after asking someone else) the teriyaki beef and broccoli was safe, and when I asked about the sauce right after my husband ordered it (usually teriyaki sauce isn't gluten-free), the waitress THEN told us it would just be left off. He didn't get sick, but he said it was really bland because there was nothing added in as a substitute. I understand gluten-free options not being fantastic and I don't have high expectations, but just the lack of good communication about it left us feeling suuuper uneasy. That mixed with the really slow service and bland food (I'd say they forgot about us, except I'm not sure how you forget 15 people in a restaurant that small) knocked them down some stars for me. On the plus side, everyone was VERY nice, the restaurant was clean (including the bathrooms, where there was complimentary mouth wash), and the food was pretty good...
