This is my favorite seolleongtang place in the DFW area. I've visited this place at least a dozen times and neglected to write them a review earlier.
First of all, it is tucked away in a strip mall across the street from the Carrollton HMart so it is a lot less crowded. There's always plenty of parking just outside the restaurant.
Secondly, the prices are by far the most reasonable of any Korean restaurants in the area. Everything, including all you can eat cabbage and radish kimchi, is self service so people who are cost conscious can save on the gratuities.
Thirdly, and most importantly, the food is excellent. I always get the seolleongtang since it's so good but my wife loves their kalguksu (freshly made noodles cut by hand) and their kimchi mandu. The noodles have an incredible texture and chewiness and the broth is very flavorful.
The owner is always pleasant and she works very hard to keep the place...
Read moreThis place has a lot of home-style Korean dishes and everything tastes really good. I especially loved the ssambap. The set was nicely balanced and really made me want to keep eating. There were so many kinds of fresh veggies for wrapping, including ones I don’t usually get the chance to eat, which was a nice surprise.
The barley rice was cooked just right — not too mushy or too hard. At first I thought the meat portion was a bit small, but after finishing the meat and mixing the rice with the soybean paste stew, then eating it with young radish kimchi and pickled radish, it turned out even better than the meat itself.
I had it for lunch and came back again for dinner. That should tell you enough. If you’re craving that warm, homemade Korean meal, definitely check this place out. Pretty sure I’ll be back all summer. Next time I’m trying the grilled fish...
Read moreEdit: It's been two years since my original review, and we still love it here. Very authentic & self-service! They have budae stew (army stew), noodles, soup etc too.
I usually get the kalgooksoo (handmade noodles), but I got the Seoul leung tang soup for the first time today. An employee said that the owners (an older couple) boil their beef broth for 24 hours. Their kimchi is still good. They had yeoll mu kimchi too during my recent visit. My family and I love this restaurant! It's across the street from H-mart, so it's not as well known, but the food is delicious. We especially like the hand-made noodles and dumplings that are made fresh. Our favorites are the clam and anchovy noodle soup.
It's an affordable, simple self-service place, and their free kimchi and radish is so good (also available...
