I hadn’t originally planned on having BBQ Chicken. I was at a gathering at a nearby restaurant, and after finishing dinner, I was walking back to my car when I happened to see the BBQ Chicken sign. At that moment, I suddenly remembered the fried chicken my father used to bring home late at night when I was a child.
That’s right—Korean fried chicken restaurants are more than just places that serve chicken. In the past, when Korea was not as prosperous, chicken was a special meal—a rare opportunity for parents to treat their children to good meat. What started as a simple fried chicken business has now grown so much that Korea has more chicken restaurants than McDonald’s locations worldwide.
So, on impulse, I decided to stop by and ordered a box of Honey Garlic Chicken. When I got home and shared it with my family, I was amazed—it was even better than the chicken I used to have in the restaurant !
In Korea, chicken is traditionally a delivery food, not something you eat at a sit-down restaurant like in the U.S. This means that the sauce-coated chicken is designed to reach peak flavor and texture after a certain period. As the temperature slightly drops, the sauce thickens and seeps into the crispy batter, creating a chewier texture and an incredibly rich, umami-packed taste. That’s the real flavor of Korean-style seasoned chicken.
For decades, countless chicken brands in Korea have competed fiercely, fine-tuning their recipes to ensure the best taste even after delivery time. BBQ Chicken is one of the top brands, constantly battling for the number two or three spot in Korea’s highly competitive market.
Being able to experience this nostalgic flavor here in Texas, thousands of miles away from Korea, makes me...
Read moreI recently had the displeasure of visiting BBQ chicken Carrollton, and I must say, it was a complete disaster from start to finish. Although the food itself was decent, the service was absolutely abysmal. I cannot emphasize enough just how terrible, terrible, and terrible the service was. The servers displayed an astonishing level of attitude, as if they were doing customers a favor by even acknowledging their presence.
Throughout my visit, I couldn't help but notice that the entire staff seemed perpetually annoyed with every customer. One particular individual, who had the audacity to answer the store phone, would proceed to smack his lips and shake his head in an infuriatingly dismissive manner after hanging up. It was as if he couldn't care less about the customers' needs or concerns.
To add insult to injury, the girl taking our order had an inexplicably bad attitude. Her disdain for customers was palpable, and quite frankly, I found it appalling. I was so astounded by her behavior that I contemplated requesting a manager to come out and shed some light on the deplorable conduct of their employees.
Let me be clear: there are plenty of other outstanding chicken places in Carrollton that actually value their customers. So, why waste your time, money, and sanity at BBQ chicken Carrollton? Save yourself the frustration and humiliation of being treated like garbage, and seek out one of the superior alternatives available.
In conclusion, I strongly advise against patronizing BBQ Chicken Carrollton. The combination of mediocre food and the downright awful service provided by their surly and unprofessional staff makes this establishment utterly unworthy of your...
Read moreWent here with a group of 7 to celebrate BIL's birthday and a few things transpired that I wish hadn't. When taking our orders, the waitress wrote on the front and back of the ticket, and when it got submitted, only the items in the front ended up coming to the table. The server asserted that what showed up at the table was all we ordered, though we were short two chicken dishes and some sweet potato fries.
Out of what we did end up receiving at the table, the most delicious were the boneless secret spicy and boneless hot spicy wings. The accompanying radish was very good paired with the chicken. The boneless wings were done very well. On the lighter side of breading, and the sauce was evenly distributed and not too gelatinous or gooey stringy like some places. The portions are generous and the food is really tasty.
We also ordered wings bone-in, but everyone who ate those felt ill the following day. Boneless recommended. The tteok boki (rice cakes and fish cakes in a sweet and spicy sauce covered in cheese) was also very good, sweet, cheesy, and medium spice! I would tell you how the fries were but we never received them.
The space itself is nice. Very open with space and high ceilings, while natural light comes in from the front windows. The decor is charming, with chalk drawings on the large wall showing the process step by step of how they make their chicken.
Overall I'd say I had a 4 star experience, even with a botched order. But it goes down to 3 (generous, in my opinion) when the entire rest of the group is ill the next day, because food poisoning from underdone chicken is nothing to mess...
