This is one of my very favourite hotels, I think anywhere. It's odd, because this is just a corporate conference hotel attached to a conference center in a suburb of Dallas, but the way this hotel is put together just makes it one of my absolute favorites.
I visited Dallas five times now from Little rock, Arkansas, and I have stayed at this hotel for four of those times. The location is good as long as you don't mind driving to get to Central dallas, but that's kind of the case for anywhere outside downtown. It is very close to koreatown which is fabulous, and there is a large Walmart 2 minutes drive away for any of those essentials you forgot.
But it is the rooms in this hotel that really make it stand out for me. The bathrooms are large and well-designed, with a very large shower that has a little shelf to rest your leg when you're drying off. The hot water is plentiful and the water pressure is great. They have a little pass-through thing from the shower to the main bathroom which is very helpful for towels or things that you forget. Speaking of towels, the bath towels are all sufficiently large for a normal human being, rather than the tiny ones you increasingly see now. My only complaints about the towels would be that they are a bit scratchy.
The vanity is large and has a lot of countertop space around the sink which makes it extremely useful. The only other downside to the bathroom is that there is not a vanity mirror, although there is a large wall mirror and a full-size mirror just outside the bathroom. Finally, the hand soap that they provide is not great, it leaves a greasy residue.
The room itself is also fantastic. It's well-appointed and has a microwave and a fridge. It's a really good size, large without being overwhelming. Television is very nice and you can change its orientation to face either the chair or the bed and you can connect it securely to your Netflix account. The armchair / pull out couch in the room is exceptional and I've actually looked it up to see if I could buy it for myself but it looks like it's a Marriott exclusive. It doubles a second bed.
Finally, the bed is fabulous. The mattress is a good firmness, the blankets are plentiful, and the pillows are fantastic. Has an absolute superstar, they also aren't those silly little square pillows that you get everywhere now that just aren't big enough to do anything substantial, and they also provide two rectangular bolsters that can go under your pillows for some support.
I know I'm rambling, and this seems like a weird review to leave for a corporate hotel, but honestly I really do like this place and as long as I continue to come back to Dallas I...
Read moreIMPECCABLE hotel facility and first-class guest services! Recently I travelled out of state to Texas to visit family members, who arranged for my room at the Courtyard Marriott Carrollton. Upon entering this beautiful hotel, we were promptly greeted with a smile by Amanda at the front desk. She welcomed us and quickly checked me in. She was delightful and happy, professional, friendly and extremely respectful. I felt like a VIP. On our way to the elevator I noticed a wall of water with bubbles flowing through it, so mesmerizing and comforting to see. My room was conveniently located near the elevator, vending machines and ice machine. When I entered my room, I was delighted! Gorgeous room and very clean and well maintained. The shower was awesome, very unique set up, and provided for me were quality shampoo, conditioner and body gel, all in pump style bottles hanging in the shower along with a little cubby area holding a washcloth, hand towel and bath towel. Very convenient! (I never unpacked those personal items of mine... Their hair dryer was great also.) My room was perfect, the bed was extremely comfortable and I had every amenity I could need. The day I checked out (BTW, check-out time is at noon which is an extra bonus), Yadira, at the front desk, was the perfect hostess. She also was very friendly, respectful and helpful. I explained that my son was driving from MO to pick me up and requested to stay in the lobby until he arrived. She gladly welcomed me to make myself comfortable as I was their guest. Wow! I am so happy at this time! I also met Mr. Jerry Elm, General Manager, who was very kind and accommodating as well. He also welcomed me to stay as long as I needed and to let them know if I needed anything. At that time I knew I was a true VIP and I felt like I was still with family. The facility, grounds and pool area are beautiful. The lobby houses a Bistro, the gentleman attendant made me a delicious hot tea, however I can't recall his name (I should have written it down, I have a bad memory with names, my apologies to him). Anyway, he was delightful as well and so polite. I absolutely love this hotel!! Next year we are having our family reunion in the Dallas area and we will definitely book all of our rooms at the Courtyard Marriott Carrollton. Many thanks to all those who made my stay at the Courtyard Marriott Carrollton a wonderful and memorable experience! Well done everyone, and much appreciation for all your kindness!! (Thank you for...
Read moreWe checked in on Thursday, November 7th. The guy at the front desk whose name tag read supervisor never made eye contact with us, never welcomed us and was rude and almost combative in his actions. Not a great start. |When we walked into our room, the back of my throat was immediately seared by the caustic chemical fumes in the room. That lasted for 3 or 4 days. |The flooring in the threshold from the bathroom into the room had very sharp edges. When I stepped on it with my bare foot, I felt a lot of pain. The ball of my foot was sore for a couple of days. |We spoke with Elisha, Front Desk Manager the next morning when we checked out and told her about all of these issues. Her response was to offer us free coffee or bottles of water. Not a satisfactory solution to say the least. |When I received the standard email requesting feedback on our stay, I shared all of this same information and gave a 1 star rating. The 1 star was given for the convenience of location only. This morning I had an email in response to my feedback from Elisha. She apologized for the hotel and staff not meeting the expected standard. She also mentioned that she offered us a complimentary night’s stay should we choose to give the hotel a second chance. Neither I nor my husband recall her giving us that offer, but in the course of our discussion we did tell her we wouldn’t return. In my reply email to her this morning, I suggested a full or at least a large part of our room rate be refunded to us. So my question is does the General Manager of the hotel read any of the feedback or is he informed about reviews that are so low? I would like to hear from him. Elisha should be able to provide my contact information to him. |Lori and Steve A....
