I'm not sure if it was because we have kids but it was pretty clear we weren't welcome last Saturday evening. Our server was rude and acted rushed and put out over us even asking to order drinks. My son has allergies so we asked for his rolls to not have any sauce. We've asked this same thing here in the past and it's never been a problem. We don't expect special treatment. But apparently this time it was ridiculous to even ask. Our server acted like he's never heard of such a thing as no sauce and proceeded to laugh about it with the sushi chef right in front of us. After we put in our last order of rolls another employee came over to offer us ice cream instead and was annoyed that we wanted the rolls we ordered. They refused to make more than one roll for my son even though we paid for all you can eat for him. The food We DID receive just wasn't anywhere near the quality they used to serve. Everything was fishy and covered in overly sweet sauce. Mings used to be a favorite of ours but we will never be back. The food and service have gone beyond downhill and customers don't deserved to be ridiculed over...
Read moreOctober 2017. The lunch specials seemed reasonably priced. The lunch plate is identical (fewer choices) but includes chow mein (pictured). The meal cost $7.99 plus the cost of hot tea. Total bill = $10.21.
The gentlemen that seated me almost had some personality. Another gentlemen waited on me and actually made an honest attempt at being personable. It seemed unusual that I (a man) ate alone that day and they sent a female to deliver the check (and a smile) to my table. Perhaps they thought I would leave a larger tip. I didn't see that happen at any other table but I didn't mind. I think she and some of her coworkers speak very little English.
I agree with an earlier review that the staff, overall, seems somewhat odd. Not quite like the Adams Family, but "different".
The food was good and did not leave me as thirsty as a desert weary camel, which some Chinese food does. I plan to eat here again in the future and hopefully try the AYCE sushi also. Maybe I should smile at the lady server that brought my check. It can't hurt and it might lead to a very interesting edit to...
Read moreI love Ming’s! The food is always fresh, hot, and delicious! Lunch or dinner you have great priced options and they give you large portions so you can snack at home too. As a vegetarian it is almost impossible to find places to eat here. But Ming’s has so many options! The dinner for 1 or their lunch comes with a choice of soup and fried or steamed rice and an egg roll (dinner is an egg roll and a fried shrimp). All which I can eat minus the shrimp. Luckily my niece and I trade my shrimp for her egg roll. The egg rolls are so delicious, flavorful and not greasy with the perfect crunch. The fried rice option comes with egg in it which I love! And their egg drop soup is delicious and healing. If you haven’t tried Ming’s, do yourself a favor and come here!! Their service is always quick, food comes out hot, and the servers are always so kind. If you want they also offer sushi. You can sit on the Chinese side and order both Chinese and sushi. Thank you to the Mings family for providing amazing food to our community! BEST CHINESE FOOD IN CARSON...
