El Taco Charro — Restaurant in Carson

Food is delicious 😋 just don’t go on Tuesday nights unless you’re apart of the whole restaurant take over..I think it’s some fundraiser type thing they do EVERY TUESDAY. It gets VERY LOUD in there, like annoying loud..of course unless your part of the “fun”. Lol..It’s very VERY crowded on Tuesday evening because of Taco Tuesday, on top of them taking over almost the whole restaurant. I rarely come here now because it’s just not a pleasant restaurant to be at when they are they..& that was our thing to do as a family- Taco Tuesday Dinner. We just randomly go still here & there but on any other day EXCEPT Tuesday! Lol Asada Tacos are bomb!! 🤤 ((would of been 5 stars if the owner would tell the people who take over on Tuesday to be more respectful to his other customers. Standing in line & waiting, I’ve had a good handful of random people talk to me and say they will never go there again & wouldn’t have gone there that Tuesday night if they would of known about the take over. But I’d tell them but their food is BOMB!! Just come...

Some good elements.

Basics like refried beans and rice were not good. Beans were runny with no flavor barely any cheese and the texture of the rice seems off. Kind of like bad cafeteria food.

But, my entree: a fried chicken quarter was nearly prepared to perfection and tasted delicious.

The decor is atrocious and not inviting. Nothing says 'welcome' or 'comfort food' here, not even the cashiers. Mine was not friendly, but not hostile either. She just didn't seem to give an 'f' about working there.

I was angry to see my Jamaica was not fresh and homemade, and a vending machine. But it still tasted good.

I try to be reasonable about reviewing a place and want to give you my honest opinion.

It was okay. I loved the chicken and my Jamaica, but everything else seemed off and mediocre at best. (This place has no vibe or atmosphere going for it. So that's a downer too.)

My review is mixed.

Some good elements here. Some others, not so much.

I was really disappointed with my recent visit. I noticed multiple employees doing their hair in the kitchen area, which is extremely concerning from a hygiene standpoint. On top of that, staff were refilling personal drinks directly from the fountain using their personal cups, which is against basic food safety practices. These are serious health code violations and made me lose trust in the cleanliness and standards of this establishment. I hope management addresses these issues promptly. Lastly, the food may have been delicious, but the experience was ruined by the unprofessional behavior of the staff. While I was dining, several employees were loudly having a very negative and inappropriate conversation about upper management. It was uncomfortable and made the whole atmosphere feel unprofessional. As a customer, I shouldn't be caught in the middle of workplace drama. Definitely not the kind of environment I'd would want...
