Lotus Coffee & Tea — Restaurant in Carson

Two stars off for the lack of efficiency and long throughput. Visited on New Year’s Day with my sister and bf. We were craving something sweet, so we decided to try this spot.

Parking: They’re located in a small plaza. Easy to find a spot. Free parking lot.

Ambiance/Environment: They have a small space with a decent amount of indoor seating and no outdoor seating. It’s fairly new, so it’s pretty clean. It was pretty busy when we visited around 3pm.

Service: We self ordered via the kiosk since no one was at the register to take our order. We finished ordering at 3:06pm. I noticed there were at least 3-4 people in front of us still waiting for their drinks. Though, I also noticed 2 groups behind us received their drinks before us. At this point, it was already 3:33pm, and we were still waiting. The only interaction I had was with one of the workers at the counter. I told him we’ve been waiting almost 30 min for our drinks. Ironically the drinks appeared. He apologized for the wait. We didn’t want to be there any longer, so we took the drinks and left.

What we ordered:

1. Tiramisu Coffee - I ordered this. The coffee was actually strong. Didn’t really taste the tiramisu, but the coffee was good.

2. Lychee Watermelon w/ lychee jelly - My sister ordered this. The drink was actually really refreshing. The lychee jelly was good and not too chewy.

3. Strawberry Banana Smoothie, less sugar - This tasted as expected. The strawberry and banana flavors came through.

Pricing: Would I wait almost half an hour for these drinks again? Absolutely not. For the amount of workers present, throughput shouldn’t have taken as long as it did. I’d understand if there were only a couple workers and it was busy, but there were over a handful of workers that day. At this point, it’s just lack...

I’ve been to Lotus before, but I had yet to try their new matcha series. They added so many new matcha drinks to choose from, that I was overwhelmed (in the best way possible). One thing about Lotus is that they have a large selection of drinks to choose from, so I get to try something new every visit. This time, I ordered their Double Matcha and Rose Matcha latte. The matcha foam was soo yummy and more flavorful than I expected it to be. Would definitely get again when in need of a little pick me up. I don’t think I’ve ever had a Rose Matcha latte until now, and it was really good!! Floral drinks can easily be a miss for me, but this one was yummy and sweet. I thought the rose paired well with the matcha. It had a pink rose foam on top which really brought out the rose flavor, but wasn’t too floral. Loved the colors and how good it smelled too

Additionally, I tried their spinach and cheese pastry, and it was so good warmed up. My friend finished one and got up again to buy another. I also bought, 2 cookies to go which my family loved - matcha banana bread and ube white chocolate chip cookies I believe. Will be back to try more...

Was in the area for a meet and wanted to get some coffee and this place was within walking distance so here we are. There were plenty of tables if you want to dine in but we took ours to go. They also have restroom available FYI.

I ordered the ube coffee so I can get cheese foam with it. I'm not exactly sure what it is but while deciding what to get the girl helping us out gave us some samples for the cheese foam and let me tell you it's soooooo good!!!!! Heaven in my mouth good. The drink was good but I was disappointed that I felt it did not have enough cheese foam in it even though i requested extra. I'm def going to see how I can get more of that cheese foam next time lol.

Overall: friendly service and drinks are more on the dessert side but viet coffee is strong. I'll be back for more...
