I am a big supporter of Filipino businesses being Filipino myself and I’ve gone to this restaurant multiple times ordering different things. But this time around was very disappointing . I ordered a whole tray (150 pieces of lumpia shanghai which will be used for non profit donation ) . It comes with a sauce. I asked for just 4 plastic spoons we can use to pick up the sauce . This lady named Josie gave me such a hard time —just to get for one . She did not want to give me any .She said that is not their policy . So I informed her I ordered multiple times and each time they give me a spoon, napkins and even extra sauce and so that’s the policy I am aware of. She was clearly not aware of this because she did not know I have ordered multiple times there . Then she proceeded to tell me she did not want to give me a spoon. Clearly her pride and hurt ego was getting in the way of being thoughtful and kind to customers. I was not even asking for extra sauce —just one spoon! . You order trays of food —and you don’t give napkins or even a small spoon for the sauce?? . She is totally having a power trip and her ego could not stand that someone informed her of the policy practice done by other good employees there . She was totally an example of how an egotistical employee treats regular customers. . She is rude and demeaning the whole time . And just so it’s documented here —-other customers came up to me and told me how rude and cruel and demeaning she really is . So much that other customers felt sorry for me and even felt ashamed for her behavior . They said to me —she’s the worse person to catch when ordering food —try to speak instead to the other kind people . Well now I know and I hope the business...
Read moreI haven't had Filipino food in a great while and always look forward to a delicious and satisfying meal. The pinakbet had NO shrimp and a scanty trace of bagoong . Ok, I've eaten here many times..maybe it was a one off? The cook messed up and forgot? Damn, it's a major key ingredient or perhaps dispensed altogether with adding shrimp.. it was utterly tasteless and I don't have patis at home and don't live in Carson so begrudged to eat nonetheless since I have no choice. I work hard and look forward to consistent, reliable prepared down home Filipino cooking and prices keep getting jacked up.
The pancit had NO vegetables...not a carrot in sight! However, I did see and tasted couple of onions, but was extremely plain otherwise...again, no shrimp, not even one and no pork either.
The turon was so dry and had NO jackfruit, nada.....I wouldn't even give it to the homeless old man hanging outside every time I'm there who alwats asks for food. On a positive note, I will complement the chef who knows how to prepare fish fishes....paksiw and pusit on point, delicious and flavorful as my mother and my aunties would prepare.....Their sinigang and nilaga always flavorful.
On my next visit , hopefully Tita Celia's will resume back to consistency and stop being skimpy or else hire someone to authenticate the cuisine..
I had to go all the way to Manila Lechon and Delia's to invest more time and expense in my culinary quest to satisfy my palate. After all, Carson is the Filipino capital in...
Read moreMy Family and I (4 People) dropped by for Lunch, being that there were three Seniors in our group who could not eat much, one is a Cancer Patient, we only ordered three Combo Meals to share...nothing to do with economics of not being able to afford a Meal!!!
I approached the Cash Register Attendant to asked for extra Plastic Spoon and Fork since the three Meals only came with three sets of Utensils, the cashier, with a smug attitude proceeded to tell me that I only ordered three Meals, why asked for a 4th set of utensils? I informed her that I am willing to pay for it, in which I laid a $5.00 bill on the Counter for payment!!! I then asked a server behind the food Counter for an Extra Paper Plate...attitude was equally repugnant, I also paid her $5.00 for the extra Paper plate to let her know that me asking for extras was not because we are welfare cases!!!
The Cashier must have felt embarrassed with her despicable attitude, she attempted to return the $5.00, I was so pissed, stood up and told her I'll give it back as a tip...I dropped it in the tip Can or Jar!!!
Filipinos are well known for their Kind Heart and Hospitality...but Tita Celia's proved to be the opposite, this Restaurant is where Filipino Hospitality Died a Horrible Death!!! 🤬😡
Telling Family and Friends not to Patronize this Establishment, I would like to rate it a Minus 5 Star, but not possible...giving them a pitiful 1 Star just because that is the only rating avaible for me to...
