Completely unimpressed. We tried a new place, and we will not be back. We were told 40 minutes for the wait and waited over 50 minutes. Not awful but incorrectly quotes nonetheless. We enjoyed the atmosphere but that was all. When we were walking to the table a waitress rounded a corner and almost ran into me and my four year old and didn’t even acknowledge us at all. We were told there were no children’s drinks… no milk, juice, lemonade etc. we were told their was 7 up or tea… They charge high prices yet they serve sub par food and serve drinks in a can. Appetizer: we got pickles & pups (hush puppies). The portion size was decent but the quality of all the food was not good. The hushpuppies honestly tasted weird. None of us ate them beyond a bite. They even had a weird smell. We sat them on a plate at the edge of the table untouched. The pickles were fine. The batter was very plain so it honestly just felt like eating a regular pickle opposed to fried pickles. My husband got the ribeye. The mashed potatoes were not seasoned and bland. The steak was cooked the correct temperature but was under seasoned and was not a good cut. Extremely tough and difficult to cut. I had the blue grass burger and it was super dry. It didn’t have any sort of sauce and it was supposed to come with cheese and there was the tiniest drop of cheese on it. The baked potato was large but came with light toppings. Our sides came out wrong but were corrected. Our server came as soon as we got our food and then never came back to the table. We needed salt, pepper, toppings for potato, ice and she never came back. The hostess brought us togo boxes and another server took our plates because our server was MIA. She finally came with our bill 15 minutes after we were done. The bathrooms are just one toilet for men and another for women and the women’s bathroom was overflowing with dirty wet toilet paper and poop in the toilet and floor with an overflowing trashcan so we had to use the men’s which still was not very clean. Not once did our server ask how any of our food was and the food was just not good especially not for the price. We will not be back. On the way out the same server from when we arrived rounded a corner and almost ran into us. I said oh sorry excuse us politely and she just walked by and didn’t say sorry excuse me, anything. I have been in the service industry my entire life as a server and or service manager and I was absolutely...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Appalachian Grill and the experience was nothing short of delightful. From the moment my friends and I walked in, the atmosphere embraced us with its cozy charm, setting the stage for an evening of culinary indulgence. Our server, Lauren, was the epitome of professionalism and warmth. She greeted us with a genuine smile, making us feel welcome and setting a positive tone for the evening. What stood out the most was Lauren’s impeccable knowledge of the menu. She effortlessly rattled off the specials, displaying a deep understanding of the offerings and answering our questions with ease. Throughout the evening, she struck the perfect balance between attentiveness and respect for our dining experience. She was always there when we needed her, providing recommendations and ensuring our glasses were never empty, yet never intrusive or overbearing. Now, let's talk about the food – a true highlight of the evening. The savory mussel appetizer was a revelation. Each bite was a burst of flavors, perfectly cooked and seasoned to perfection. The Borscht, chosen to warm up on a chilly night, was a delightful blend of hearty goodness and subtle spices. It truly hit the spot. And then there was the prime rib – a masterpiece. The dish looked as amazing as it tasted. Cooked to perfection, the meat was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. My friends couldn't stop raving about it, and I might have had a moment of food envy! In conclusion, Appalachian Grill offers not just a meal but an experience. The outstanding service, combined with the delicious offerings and the cozy atmosphere, creates a dining adventure that lingers in your memory. Whether you're looking for a casual evening out or a special occasion, this restaurant deserves a top spot on your list. We left with satisfied taste buds and grateful hearts, eager to return for another great...
Read moreToday is my bday and I chose Appalachian Grill to have my bday lunch. My mom drove from Marietta and my sister drove from Calhoun to eat lunch with me. None of us have ever been to this restaurant before. Had decent reviews. The hours of operation state that y’all open at 11am, according to your website. The front door also states an opening time of 11am. Well…we got there at 11am, as well as 3 other groups of people and at 11:15am, we are all still standing outside. Doors are locked, lights are on, and employees can be seen wandering around through the windows. Not one employee bothered to open the door or even acknowledge the people outside waiting. It would have been nice to have someone come out and say ANYTHING. But nope. No one could be bothered with any form of professionalism whatsoever. I watched multiple people get upset and go elsewhere before my group also walked away. We also tried calling. Twice. No one answered the phone and you don’t have any form VM setup. I guess your entire establishment didn’t want to be an actual establishment today and your lack of professionalism and nonexistent communication, caused you to lose business right from the start. Here’s a tip, the next time you come to work but don’t plan on actually doing anything, put a sign on your door that says “NOT open as we advertised, will open when we feel like it.” Also update your business hours on your website to reflect the true times and maybe get a legit phone system. Training yourself and staff on customer communication should also be the #1 priority. Y’all failed epically today and first impressions are always the most important. I won’t be recommending your restaurant to anyone. Such a...
