I love mellow mushroom’s food and I really enjoy coming to this mellow mushroom, but I have never disliked a management staff at a place I frequented more than this place and that is why I gave this place only 4 stars. If it weren’t for certain bartenders, Kayla and Bianca (I think they call her B), my wife and I probably wouldn’t come here as much anymore. Sadly, the last couple of times we’ve been there, Kayla and B were not there, but B is always very pleasant and Kayla always makes our experience great and caters to our needs. My wife can be a bit particular when it comes to the way she likes her pizza. Twice when we’ve been here, she wanted a thin crust pizza and it came out cold. Both times a manager would bring us a second thin crust pizza but they don’t even offer to apologize or acknowledge the issue. We’ve even spoken to the owner about this but it didn’t seem to fix the issue. The last time we were there, we sat at the bar by the kitchen with Kelsey. Poor girl seemed so overwhelmed with just my wife and I at the bar that we didn’t want to inquire about our pizza and what was taking so long. We even watched a manager in a black shirt with short blonde hair yell at the staff to run food while she stood there. We watched her stand there with food sitting hot in the window, waiting for some of the other staff to walk by so she could make them run the food. One of those pizzas was ours that sat in the window while she leaned on the ledge there and talked with the kitchen. When someone finally brought that pizza to us, it was luke warm. If the owners would do themselves a favor and get rid of poor management and staff that doesn’t even look remotely happy to be there, this place would be 5 stars all day long. I feel sorry for the rest of the crew who are doing a great job. I wish they could be there all the time so we know we will have a good...
Read moreWell…I’ve had nothing but great experiences at my local Mellow Mushrooms in Atlanta. Peachtree Street in particular. However, I’ve come to this Cartersville location twice, and both times were terrible. The first time, the waitress came to our table 3 times in total: 1. Take the order 2. Bring the order 3. Ask if we needed the check. - That’s pretty bad. No asks of water or beer or soda refills, nothing. The pizza that time felt about 75% crust, as it was bubbling significantly into the pie.
Second Time: After a lengthy jog on a hot day and in town for a bit of filming, I decided it made sense to pop in for a quick “One and done” beer around noon. I walked in, there was one couple at a table, about 5 staff members (not including kitchen staff). As I walked in, I let the person at the host stand that I was going to the bar for a quick drink. I sat down, they still had tap covers on (despite being open), and after 5 literal minutes, no one walked over to me, asked what I’d like, brought a menu, etc.
If you don’t think that 5 minutes is a long time, start your stopwatch on your phone, and look at it for 300 seconds and tell me if you’d be ok the only person at the bar and only second person in the restaurant, and nobody helps you. Pretty shameful customer service. I think being a one horse town type location, they probably don’t care as (I imagine) a majority of their clientele consider MM an urban treat.
I’m giving it a 4 star for atmosphere, however, because the one horse town look is nice for some. It isn’t my cup of tea, but I wanted to be fair on every side. I’d avoid this place unless you’re a local, then it probably doesn’t matter. But if you’re from the city, save yourself and go somewhere more “local business” for a...
Read moreWas told our wait would be 45 mins. Went to walk downtown and not even 20mins later they’re telling us our table is ready. Way under quoted but great we get to sit down quicker!
We sit down and it’s 10 minutes before anyone comes to our table. She finally comes and we order drinks and an appetizer. Comes out fairly quickly.
But it all went downhill after this.
One of our people ordered a burger and tots. It was brought to the table by a food runner 20mins before the rest of our food. With no knife to cut it and no ketchup or anything. It was another 25 mins before the other two of us got our pizza. Over an hour we waited on food. During that time not ONCE did we see our waitress. Not once did she refill our drinks or update us. Over an hour we waited on food without even being checked on.
When the pizza finally came mine was hardly even warm and my boyfriend’s pizza was falling apart. We were too hungry to care. The waitress then says “can I get you anything else?” I say “yes refills”. She says “refills?” Umm yes hints our empty glasses. It’s strange I had to even ask when she knew she hadn’t refilled our glasses in 1hour+. She just clearly didn’t care about our table. We'll go to acworth next time even tho we live half a mile from this location, because from what I’m hearing this service has become the norm for...
