I have supported this family owned business for years. Due to the fact that their food was good, I overlooked the consistent rudeness from the dad who cooks, but sometimes answers the phone. He will often speak to you as if you’re getting on his nerves. I would call in hopes that his son would answer the phone bc he’s friendly. What has made me rate them a 1 star is bc they will mess up your order, admit they are wrong- but REFUSE to remake it correctly or give a refund! The dad which is the “manager” is lacking customer service skills in a major way!! I told him he needed to understand that customers order and pay with expectations that their order will be made correctly! I understand everyone makes mistakes, but expect them to be fixed! He refuses to comply with that simple service and I’ve spent too much money supporting them for him to continuously mess up my order that I’ve been ordering the same for years! Completely done with this place! Good food, horrible service! Just know if they mess up, they don’t care and will dismiss you as if you didn’t just pay them! How can you serve me vegetable mei fun with NO VEGETABLES?!? Repeatedly at that, admit it then say oh well?!...
Read moreI’ve been a long time customer of this restaurant since I was a little kid. It is our go to restaurant and the owner is super friendly. His food is always fresh and I’ve never found another Chinese place that can compare. My family and I have never been sick or found any health concerns. They have this really great spicy oil that completes the meals. We’ve usually ordered shrimp lo mein, rice noodles with shrimp, shrimp with broccoli and white rice, chicken with broccoli and white rice, sweet and sour chicken, general tso chicken, chicken fried rice, chicken wings, and their fried shrimp. All has tasted amazing and has been consistent. They are busy especially during Friday and the weekend, but the food is worth the wait.
Side note: I am talking about this Hong Kong Restaurant off Kildaire Farm RD. I say that because some reviews are posting about other restaurants named Hong Kong and are not this place. Not saying all of the reviews...
Read moreYeah, I knew they changed hands before I actually heard. The food has really gone downhill. We realized it at first when the chicken wings were suddenly MUCH smaller. A month ago, I got egg foo young, it was sitting in a huge pool of oil and the oil was bitter like it was being re-used for a long time. I pressed the egg foo young in tons of paper towels, but the sauce was so awful I threw the entire thing out. What a waste. This time (about a month later) I ordered moo shu pork. I've ordered both of these dishes multiple times. The moo shu wasn't very flavorful and the veggies were all soft, not even the cabbage was crunchy...it was a pile of soft mush. We used to come in once a week, but I think we're going to need to find...
