Olive Tree Market — Restaurant in Cary

They simply need to learn how to run such a business, especially during season time (Ramadan). I picked up my stuff and waited more than 20min for the cashier to show up at register, he was working on the back room then talking and laughing with other customers, already asked him to help us, he saw the line about 4 people waiting to check out, but he simply ignored us, so I decided to drop my basket and leave. They really need to respect their loyal customers, and hire more people during the season. I don’t know how they expect a single cashier to run the entire place while serving demand on meat and other things. In addition, there was no price tag on whatsoever I picked. As a customers, I just went to another place and got my grocery, but they just lost my interest to come again because they just don’t care about their business, or at least don’t know how...

I am sure Olive Tree use to be a good establishment at one point. Now it's just like a market with bland shelves, poor customer service and mediocre meat. I purchased few times, especially the halal meat. The biggest disappointment was chicken breast which had striation which is indicative of chickens having muscular disorder. When I inquired about freshness of meat, the owner (short one) said "have you had meat from here before?" To which I responded "yes" He followed by saying, "Did it taste fine?"

I am sorry but even Purdue and Tyson taste fine but that doesn't mean it's good, clean, organic, hormone free, etc. They have a sign posted which says their chickens are humanly raised and hormone free. Don't advertise things if you can't...

Seems like the business practices are not good recently.. Charged extra for cutting more than they have advertised. How i know bought meat elsewhere to check what norm is and they charged 50c lesser.. Not cool by Olive Tree

Update to Response: As far the meat goes, the Breast meat we got was not halal as it was huge like GMO chicken and tasteless. Halal chickens are smaller in size that we got for years and do get now too. Check yourself from the photo. 12inch pan accommodate two breast pieces of 2inc thick. Never we had this kind of experience.
