DO NOT STAY HERE! They will scam you! I checked in around 6 pm on 5/26/25. I was in town to take a very serious test for the state. The only things I did in that hotel room was study, eat and sleep. I thought at first the experience was okay but I was mistaken. On the day of my departure I made sure my room was nice and tidy because I don’t like leaving a mess, went to the front desk and checked out. Not even two hours later I had received an email stating my card was charged 250 dollars for “heavy marijuana smoke” and a ban from ever staying in the hotel. I was in complete SHOCK. I’m the type of person that will accept my consequences but this was complete INJUSTICE for something I really did not do. I called the hotel immediately and was told the GM- Sean Grady was in a meeting but would call me after. No call. The same day I called back and he was no longer there but “he would give me a call first thing in the morning”. He did not, I had to call again. Once on the phone with the GM- Sean Grady he was absolutely rude and did not want to listen to my reasoning at all. It concluded with him saying the change remains and then hung up on me as I was speaking. I have never experienced a more hostile reaction from an employee in customer service. Again, I was shocked. To top it off, this is what was provided as “proof” to their 250 charge. Mind you, I am a female and I stayed alone that night so I never pulled up the seat. Had I, I would have reported it because that’s gross. I also would have reported a heavy smoking smell when I checked in because that’s gross as well but there was not one. This feels like a complete scam and I’m only writing this review to warn people and maybe bring some awareness to how horribly Sean Grady (the GM) handled the situation. Anybody going to stay the night for your state board exams-LOOK ELSEWHERE! Do not support this business. We are already spending a lot of money to take the test plus traveling and this is the last thing we need. If you do decide to stay here, make sure you thoroughly check the the room is clean and be aware- they do look through your trash which is highly invasive. The "proof" does not prove any evidence of "heavy marijuana smoking" and since when is marijuana an orange cracker crumb? Again, look elsewhere if possible.||||Update: After calling the Marriott loyalty team with this concern, Sean Grady sent me an email first thing in the morning (5/29) half apologizing for "how I felt" but that he was still charging me. Which honestly, was more insulting than apologetic in my opinion. This is after I was told another investigation was going to be done. That was just Sean Grady again accusing me of something I did not do and no other persons being involved in the "new" investigation. I then proceeded to call the Marriott loyalty team again where I was transferred to a Supervisor who said he would lead a another true investigation not involving Sean Grady. I will say, the Marriott loyalty team has been beyond kind and helpful in trying to resolve this issue and I am very thankful. ||||Best to just choose to stay somewhere else because all this isn't worth the risk of a false accusation. It is hurtful, costly, unfair...
Read moreMy recent stay at this Marriott property has seriously made me question the standards of the entire brand. We chose this location due to its proximity to nearby attractions, but the experience left much to be desired.
Rooms: The rooms were acceptable, albeit a bit dated. The check-in process was smooth, and we encountered no issues at that stage. However, the problems began shortly thereafter.
Room Service: To my surprise, room service was virtually non-existent. Something as simple as requesting a few bottles of water was met with a complete lack of response. This is not what one expects from a Marriott property.
Breakfast: The breakfast offered was extremely disappointing. I would strongly recommend seeking better options outside the hotel.
Housekeeping Incident: The most egregious issue occurred on the day of our departure. Although the check-out time was 12 PM, my wife and I left the hotel at 9 AM to have breakfast elsewhere due to the subpar quality of the hotel’s offering. We packed our belongings into the car but left a box of lunch, some ice cream from Goodberry's, and three water bottles in the refrigerator, intending to retrieve them before check-out.
When we returned at 11:30 AM, we found our room locked and our keycards disabled. After having them reset at the front desk, I discovered that our room had been completely cleaned out by housekeeping, including the disposal of our food and drinks. The housekeeping manager claimed that since there was no "Do Not Disturb" sign, and we were due to check out anyway, they entered the room and discarded our items. This explanation is far from satisfactory, and it left us feeling uneasy about the possibility of unauthorized entry at other times.
When we raised this issue with the front desk, the response was unapologetic and dismissive. The only compensation offered was 1,500 Bonvoy points, which was hardly sufficient given the circumstances. Additionally, there was no manager available to address our concerns, as it was a Sunday.
Follow-Up: Upon returning home, I lodged an official complaint and was contacted by Mitchell Haughey, who apologized and offered an additional 5,000 Bonvoy points. However, these points are limited in value, have an expiry date and do little to compensate for the experience we endured.
Despite my follow-up email, I have yet to receive any further communication, nor do I expect to.
Recommendation: If you are planning a visit to Raleigh, I strongly urge you to consider other accommodations. There are more affordable options in the area that offer far superior service. I also encourage potential guests to review other similar experiences at this property, as they appear to be not...
Read moreI stayed at this hotel for a week while vacationing with my wife. I have stayed at other Fairfield Inn and Suites before, but this one was amazing. I am a Silver Elite member of Marriott's reward program, but I was treated like a Platinum member at this hotel. I checked in on the Marriott app, and was greeted by name when I walked inside the hotel. My room was ready, and waiting for me. It was spotless, thanks to the dedication of Teresa E., a member of the housekeeping staff. The room (504), had a King bed, a 42 inch TV, and a microwave and refrigerator. The air conditioner worked flawlessly, and was quiet for the most part. What surprised me the most was the shower in the bathroom. This is the first time that I have been in a Fairfield Inn and Suites that had a large stall shower, without a bathtub. It was a nice change of pace from the usual set up. The bed was very comfortable, and provided a good nights sleep. The breakfast area was a good size, and had a great variety of food to please the palette. Their are individual tables, as well as a counter where a group of people could sit together. Another surprise was that they had real dishes, instead of the plastic ones that you usually get in hotels. Some of the choices were fresh fruit, a variety of egg dishes, bacon, sausage, potatoes, hot oatmeal, a waffle station, bagels, bread, and muffins. They also had various juices, yogurt, milk, and coffee. The breakfast staff was very attentive and refilled food as was needed.Their were copies of USA Today readily available, along with numerous TV screens to watch if you desired. In the lobby area, there was a computer work station, along with a printer available for you to use. The parking lot was spacious and was not filled during our visit. They have both a workout room and an indoor pool. I did not use the workout room, but it had several pieces of equipment, along with televisions you could watch as you worked out. The pool was smaller than other hotel pools, but it served my purpose. Please note that their is no whirlpool in the pool area, which was the only disappointment I had. This being a pretty new hotel, I think the lack of a whirlpool is a grave oversight by the management. Checkout was flawless, as I also completed it using the Marriott app. All in all, I would recommend the Fairfield Inn and Suites in Cary, North Carolina to anyone visiting the Raleigh...
