$40 for 20 wings and fries. Double check your order or be prepared to have a hard time getting compensated. I don't like writing bad reviews. Used to go with the family to the one in Louisburg decades ago. I probably romanticized this experience because these were some of the best wings I had as a kid.
Visited the Cary location a week ago. I ordered 20 wings. I had just got on a work call when I noticed there were only 10. Not a big deal. They are human, orders get mixed up. How they handle it is what matters.
Since I was on the phone, I drafted a quick email assuming worst case they'd give me some kind of pass for 10 free wings and I'd end up forgetting or giving it away since I'm rarely in town. Then I got a notification that the email was not valid. It was already late at this point. I was leaving town so I knew I'd have to make the phone call sometime during the next day.
Eventually, I call them and get passed to a manager. He kept asking why I didn't call or come back the day of. I kept reiterating that I had proof, I was on a work call, it was late, and that I wasn't going to drive a 30+ minute roundtrip over 10 wings. Told him I had pictures (wings were neatly folded on one side) as well as screenshots of everything (invalid email, work call timing, receipt, etc). Instead of asking for the proof and judging it, he kept saying something to the effect of "we get calls like this all the time. You understand what it looks like where I'm coming from?" Repeat cycle ad nauseum.
After a while I was fed up and ready to just take the loss and give them a 1 star review. But then he said he'd honor it. Which meant he just wasted 10+ minutes of both of our time for no reason.
Today I got back in town. I was in the area so, on a whim, I decided to order there. But this time I double checked my food. Right away, I was able to notice it was a lot more than last. Last time there were 10 wings nearly folded to the side. This time, the basket was overflowing so I knew right away.
Before that I was contemplating telling the manager to just forget the missed wings from last time. But then I overheard him laughing and joking around with the cook in spanish (I'm multilingual) about the wing count. I blocked out the rest of their conversation. The same manager was obviously aware but never approached me himself.
I'm not going to outright say he was avoiding me. It's closing time, he's the manager yada yada. But to use his line, "you gotta understand my perspective." Someone in a professional setting gives you his word and then doesn't handle a simple situation despite being 100% aware of the situation. Paranoia set in. Now I, don't even trust the food isn't tampered. I only ate 3-4 wings. The taste was different. It probably was mental. Either way, likely never going back to this one.
Just the fact that I had to jump through all those hoops (over 10 wings...) and he still wouldn't take initiative to acknowledge it. Keep the wings. I hope it...
Read moreThe elderly lady behind the counter taking orders must have been having a bad customer service day. I watched as she treated everyone the same with her negative attitude and service without even a smile. If you asked for an extra anything such as crackers for the chili you were given one or two. If you asked for more you were sharply asked "how many more" and replied that's too many, we only allow such and such.
My wife's order should have come with honey mustard sauce. I returned to ask for the sauce and was promptly told it should have been there. I explained that it wasn't. Was quickly given a roll of the eyes, asked how many I needed, I replied 2 please, was asked just one, I answered 2 please, and was told I'd have to pay for them. I replied ok. After about a 30 second pause I was asked if I was going to pay for the sauses, I again replied I would. She snapped backed saying well, you have to pay first. I replied again, I'll be glad too. She banged on the register said that will be .76 cents. I paid, she gave me change and with hands that just finished changing money, discarding dirty trays to the wash area, pounding on a cash register prepared the sauces and brought them to me uncovered with those hands.
Upon finishing I asked for Togo plates and 6 little cups for sause. I was quickly told I'm allowed only two per order, asked what was I using them for, etc. I explained that I had a party of 4 and 6 was under the limited of 2 per order. After a loud and disgusting sigh she forcefully placed them into my hand.
We were getting our plates packed up and almost done doing so, when the girl cleaning tables came over, placed discarded paper products directly into a plate my son was clearly still eating! She asked, oh, are you not finished? Well, he was at that point. No apologies.
I used enjoy eating here, but this experience was the last straw. I know businesses are struggling but this was too far today. My order was about $70 and we added a 20% tip at check out. Had I known this was the service we would receive a tip would never had be added nor would I have come.
Lesson learned! There are much better places to eat and way better service.
PS. Almost forgot. A lady picking up a Togo order was sparked at. This same elder lady at the register grabbed the plastic bag from the customers hand, reached in, opened all the plates and unwrapped a sandwich. Asked the lady to produce her ticket #, rummaged through to order again, loosely wrapping the sandwich back. Smuggly said I guess this is your order, then finally noticed that the order ticket was clearly attached to the bag! No apologies, no thankyou, no smile, just a quick thrust of the bag into the customers hand.
I should have turned and walked out then. She really needs to be let go. Totally unexceptable. I passed by 4 places on my 20 minute ride that offers comparable options. Will not make the same...
Read moreFirst timer here. Went there based on good reviews. Ordered a chicken smothered in cheese, mushrooms, and ranch with a side of green beans and a salad for my 2 sides. It also came with toast. I can't remember the name of the meal, but it was one of the three "Specialty meals" cost $14 plus tax. I ate in. When I looked at my food I noticed the cheese wasn't melted on the chicken, ranch was smothered on the very top and the chicken collected alot of "char" from being cooked on likely a not so clean grill/cook top. I didn't like the presentation and thought it wouldn't taste that good from its appearance, but I was wrong. It was delicious! The greenbeans also had flavor, no meat added but you could taste the flavor, which was great. The ranch for my salad however was very loose and lacked flavor so my salad taste like it was just wet lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers with cheese. I've literally never tasted a salad so bland, but it was likely due to the dressing. When I got down to the last few bites I tasted something gritty so I didn't finish. The toast, not sure what type of bread they used but they should have thrown it away. Even with it toasted (only on 1 side) I could tell is was going bad...it had a moldy bread taste so I didn't but half of it. The place has a 93 sanitation score and I usually don't eat at places lower than a 95 because I know that resturaunts can get extra points for simplethings and have scores over 100. Parts of the lobby floor were so sticky I was afraid I was going to have to wash the bottom of my shoes when I got home. I went past several tables before having a seat as they appeared unclean. I was there for at least 30 mins and all the staff stayed behind the counter, no one touched the lobby and they call your number for you to walk up to get your food. They also have a small salad bar. While the food may have been okay overall and the staff nice, I don't believe this resturaunt has sanitary practices and I won't be returning. Such a shame, it's located in a perfect area, in the parking lot of shopping centers and I'm sure it gets alot of business. I went on a weekday and it was hardly anyone in there dining in, so things should have been cleaner. If the manager reviews this he should make sure he and his staff strives for...
