I was VERY disappointed in the brunches Cary location. I had been to the one in Carolina beach and loved it! I hyped it up and took my husband to the Cary location for his birthday, we were sorely let down. I ordered the classic Benedict, my husband got the burrito and we ordered my toddler a side fruit bowl. My Benedict was tiny and sad. The hollandaise sauce had a weird mustard taste to it. The English muffin was smashed super thin and the size of a McDonalds mini-pancake. My husband’s home fry’s were burnt to a crisp, my toddler ended up playing with them. My toddler who loves all fruit, took one strawberry, put it in his mouth and immediately spit it out. We tried giving him a blueberry and same result. My husband then tried the fruit and said it didn’t taste like it was supposed to. It tasted like all the fruit had been sitting mixed together for a long time, nothing was fresh. I later went back and read the Brunches Cary reviews. Our food looked nothing like the pictures posted. The staff was friendly enough, however at one point our waitress came by and asked if we needed anything, but then walked away before either one of us could answer. We went on a Tuesday, which I learned later via Google, is taco Tuesday. Nothing was mentioned, nothing advertised at the restaurant, and our waitress never said they had any specials to offer. My mom had a similar experience with the food at the same location. She ordered the loaded home fries. The potato’s were burnt, there was a tiny sprinkling of cheese only on the top which was hard from being overcooked and very little bacon (also only on the surface) I wished so bad to love it and this be our new brunch spot, I was even planning on taking my friend here later (she too loves the Carolina Beach location), but sadly it is way overpriced for the...
Read moreHaving lived in NYC for 17 years, brunch is my favorite meal. We've been trying to find new brunch places as we keep going back to one particular spot since moving here.
I heard about this place on social media and we had also been in the area to try the Korean BBQ place the other weekend.
First, I'm happy this place is open till 3pm, we're used to late brunch.
When we drove by, we saw how busy it was, so my boyfriend dropped me off to see how long the wait was. Initially, there were 10 parties ahead waiting for tables 😬, luckily I saw two seats available at the bar and asked about it, it was first come first serve, so I took them.
We got seated, got waters right away. I couldn't decide between a spicy bloody mary or a mimosa, opted for a pineapple mimosa since it seems to be a big thing there. The mimosa was big! I ordered breakfast tacos with a side of home fries and the guac was a very generous serving on the tacos! My boyfriend for got the biscuit and gravy with a side of home fries.
The serve was great, the food came quickly and I enjoy my mimosa. The atmosphere is like almost a clubby boozy brunch place we've been to in NYC, music was good and drinks (could be) were flowing.

Read moreSo, I found out about Brunches in Cary because I was at Chipotle next door to the restaurant and I had planned on going in there eventually until two of my former co-workers mentioned that their food was really good in spite of how expensive it was.
The first two times were difficult to get in because my mom and I got there before they closed within the hour on a Sunday and I found out from the receptionist that they wasn’t taking anymore customers since, the waitlist was full and then, the other time we found out when my cousin came with my mother and I that the wait time was 45mins to an hour at 1230-1pm on a different Sunday so, at this point my mother and I, even my cousin was disappointed AGAIN.
There is a quote that says “third time is a charm” so, we tried again but, this time on a Saturday! We got there between 12-1230pm and the wait time was way better..it was only for 30-40mins and when my mother, cousin and I got in - we were soooo grateful and happy! My coworkers were not lying about the food, it was delicious and the bill was pretty decent so, we will be going back there again and I highly recommended the service, food and atmosphere. It was really laid back...
