I've had Banh Mi while in Vietnam, so I was excited to see another shop in the area offering them. Was bummed that their donut machine was down cause I'd have loved to try their donuts.
Went for lunch and ordered a signature Banh Mi and a Thai Tea. The tea was okay, but the sandwich was a huge disappointment. The bread is supposed to be soft and this was the furthest thing. RIP to the roof of my mouth. Could barely even squeeze it to compress it down. I had to pick out huge hard cilantro stems - of which there was barely any cilantro which is a big part of a Banh Mi. There was a huge glob of mayo in the middle of my sandwich. I ate half and then tossed it.
The menu is also pretty high and far from the register with fairly small text, so it was hard to read, but not impossible. None of the items have descriptions, so you don't know exactly what comes on the sandwich. I know the typical ingredients on a Banh Mi, so I just figured I'd be good. I love jalapenos and am happy they were included, but I know others would love to know that before ordering.
All in all, they seem to have all the right components but still miss the mark. There was a single other customer in there when I ordered, so my experience was not from catching them at a busy time or anything. It just seems they used old bread and didn't do a great job, at least today.
š I hope they improve with time. I love seeing small businesses instead of chains with so few available in this area. Maybe I'll try again...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe have tried this place at least twice already, and Iām not very impressed. Theyāre always out of food. They donāt make their food items on their menu in large batches, so youāre stuck with whatever they have out. We ordered taro drinks and specifically asked for no boba, and we still got boba in our drinks.
The mochi donuts were good, but they are becoming a lot smaller every time we go; the portion size is so much smaller now, and it costs us $3 a piece! Also, the mochi texture and taste are no longer there. Itās just like Iām eating regular donuts with a little taste of mochi. The donut box is nice but too big. The portion size of the donuts is disappointing.
I do not recommend this place. I donāt think they are ready to open up this place. I wouldnāt go back; Iād rather spend my money somewhere that is consistent with the portion and quality of...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePeople slamming this place with bad reviews have no cultural understanding of the food being served. If you're expecting Jersey Mike's levels of meat in these sandwiches, just go somewhere else. You're going to get well marinated portions of chicken, beef or pork in your sandwich, but it will not be overflowing in excess because that is not how these are traditionally made. The sandwich contains cold portions of pickled vegetables/ingredients for freshness and the corn dogs here are not like traditional American corn dogs. The servers here are young, most likely family that is supporting the business, so have some patience as they work through your orders. The food is great and the customer service needs some work but it's not "bad" by any stretch of the imagination. I will most certainly be returning for food...
