THE BAKERY SUCKS! I’m completely disappointed with the bakery employees at this location. Especially the manager, Marilyn… I placed a custom cake order in person on 9/28 for my baby shower. I received a confirmation call on 10/4 for my cake. Upon the pickup date on 10/5 all of the employees working that morning including the manager could not locate my custom cake. They kept saying sorry and the guy working that morning said, ā€œjust because you placed the order a week ago doesn’t mean that it was already made!ā€ The manager also told me that they had over 60 orders for that morning and that she didn’t even know who made the cake or misplaced the cake. I told her that it’s not my fault they have communication errors within their department. She agreed with me and blamed it on the new hires that had joined the team. They offered to make a new cake right then and there… after 30mins the guy came out from the back and showed up with the cake. He laughed and said, ā€œit was the last cake in the back of the fridge!ā€ I took the cake and walked away. It looked okay in the box but when we took it out to display on our cupcake tower, the stripe of the princess crowns was grey! The book selection shows that it was supposed to be a hot pink… it just looked awful and shows the lack of care the bakery employees put into custom cakes. I put in my complaint with the store Manager, Ray. He was kind enough to listen to our terrible experience of dealing with the bakery employees and gave us a coupon to get the cake for free. I’ll never order a cake from this HEB or really any other HEB location. I hope managers see this and have a talk with the bakery manager and employees.

I want to give this H-E-B a really great rating, I really do but I've called the store several times to complain about this issue and it just keeps happening so I'm writing this review. I'm not really sure why they let you write notes on the online orders if the shoppers don't bother to read them.I ask for the freshest produce, the most recently packaged baked goods and the shoppers pick whatever comes within reaching distance. I understand the shoppers are supposed to gather items quickly and efficiently but HEB shoppers hold HEB stores to higher standards than others. The price of food is in the atmosphere and the quality of our food and customer care is at the opposite end of the spectrum. I asked for "the lightest green stalk possible" in the notes. Does this brown, wilted celery look freshly to you? This isn't the first time this has happened. It's not even the fifth. More and more, this HEB is losing the confidence of the community it serves. Come on, HEB, please do better. And please, get your shoppers to READ THE ORDER NOTES. Thanks.

The store itself has issues with meat going bad quickly. I’ve noticed specifically from this store our meat goes bad so fast. I thought it was my fridge temperature at first but only meat from this location does it and based on these other reviews I’m not the only one experiencing this. Otherwise the store is fine at best but if you have a busy schedule and plan on using curbside do it elsewhere. We moved here from Leon Springs and the curbside experience has been nothing short of horrible since changing to this HEB. There are not nearly enough spaces so the wait is extremely long sometimes being over an hour if you include the time you have to wait in a line of 30 cars. Every single time we order there is something wrong whether it be several items completely missing from the order, things thrown in the same bag or on top of others such as milk on top of bread, or laziness by the employees not wanting to substitute items that are out of stock. The last time we ordered they said they were ā€œout of stockā€ on basic items such as apples and oranges. No attempt to substitute for a different type of apple and furthermore when we went inside to do so ourselves wouldn’t you know it there’s plenty of honeycrisp apples in the tray yet they told us they were out of stock. Today they told us that they were out of ground beef… at HEB. So I have to go out of my way and call while at work and ask why they couldn’t substitute for a similar weight/% beef. Turns out they weren’t out of stock again. I’m assuming the employee just didn’t feel like grabbing it so they just removed it from the order. I’ve noticed it’s always items that are in corners of the store where they have to walk to get them. We never had a single issue at the other location. If you plan on using curbside to make your life easier think again because you’re going to wait in line forever just to make it home and realize you’re missing several items and have to go back, or they’re just going to mark things as out of stock so they don’t have to deal with substitutes and walking too far. I would recommend placing your curbside order at a location close to your work or the one further down the road.

Edit: To make it even worse, when my wife showed up to pick up the order today the ground beef was STILL missing and they did not re add it to the order like I had called and asked for (and was told they were going to) So she had to wait even longer for them to go grab something they were supposed to in the...

Completely Unacceptable – Ruined My Son’s Birthday and Ignored a Serious Safety Issue

I am absolutely heartbroken and furious with the way this H‑E‑B handled my son’s birthday cake order. A full week before his birthday, I called and confirmed with the bakery that they could print a photo of his favorite player, Jose Canseco, on a cake. They assured me it was not an issue. I ordered the cake, printed the image, and my husband delivered it in person. The staff told him it was perfect and everything was ready to go.

Less than 24 hours before the party, I received a call saying they couldn’t do it due to copyright concerns. This was never mentioned before, even though I followed every instruction they gave. The cake was for personal use only, and this last-minute cancellation left me no time to get a replacement. I only get to see my son for two hours on his birthday due to custody, and this was the one thing he asked for. H‑E‑B ruined that moment for us.

To make matters worse, I was told to call back at 3 a.m., which I did, only to be told no manager was available. Then I was told to call again at 6 a.m., and suddenly the story changed again—manager came and left before 7, contradicting what I was told just hours before. Nothing but inconsistencies and lies.

I’m also pregnant, extremely stressed, and completely devastated. This was not just a cake—this was a memory I will never get back. I’ve lost all trust in this location, and the lack of empathy and professionalism is shocking.

And this isn’t the first time I’ve had a serious issue here. This is the same store where we found a piece of glass in the H‑E‑B thick cut bacon, which my daughter bit into. She had to undergo x-rays after being injured. I reported this to the store manager, and never even received a call back to ask if she was okay or to make it right. Not even an apology.

How can a grocery store ignore a child getting injured from their food and then turn around and ruin a child’s birthday on top of that?

This store’s lack of accountability, empathy, and basic customer care is disgraceful. I’ve completely lost trust in H‑E‑B and especially this...

El ay she be! The beloved grocery store that's either every Texan's tortilla-making grandma or for some, la toxica. šŸ˜„ Let's talk prices. H-E-B has deals that are so good, you'll wonder if they're secretly using Jedi mind tricks. Brand name products? Hard to beat. Store brand items? You might just start a fan club. Seriously, H-E-B's store brand quality is so high that you'll question why you ever paid more for the name-brand stuff. The H-E-B partners are like grocery store ninjas. They're always on the move, yet somehow spot your "help me" wave or that confused look you get when trying to find the elusive aisle with the gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan ice cream. Now, let's address the meat situation. H-E-B's meat is top-notch. It doesn't do that weird shrink-wrap thing when you cook it, unlike some other places (cough Walmart cough), where the meat seems to shrink faster than a cheap t-shirt in a hot dryer. Ah, the donuts. H-E-B's donuts have the perfect density – light and airy. You might just float away with happiness after a couple. And the pastries? Let's just say, if there was a reality show called "Pastry Paradise," H-E-B would be the star. But wait, there's more! H-E-B is a treasure trove of authentic products sourced from high-quality farms around the globe. It's like taking a culinary trip around the world without leaving Texas. Plus, they support sustainable practices and fair compensation, making you feel good about your shopping spree. H-E-B is more than just a grocery store; it's a community pillar. It holds true to its values and high standards, making it a place where you can shop with confidence and maybe even a little bit of pride. So next time you're in need of groceries, head on over to H-E-B. You won't just be shopping; you'll be embarking on an epic adventure. And if you’re lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of their legendary tortilla-making skills in action. 🌮✨
