Denny's — Restaurant in Cathedral City

I'd like to say just passing thru I love my day team Dennys BUT when I got a chance to eat there finally it was the most disappointing meal ever and I know what to expect from Dennys. The 2 French toast swirl breakfast were bleak my 2 eggs were on separate plate covered in water my bacon only was 2 pieces as if punished for not wanting sausage they just kept it not replaced it. We had to order a side of hashbrowns as if potatoes are not cheap enough there not included anymore the swirl toast would have been good had not been soggy and we were never asked about drinks and couldn't get anyone to help us after that since we were seated in the dirty section they were closing for the night and for almost $50 for the meal I've never been rushed so bad I couldn't look at menu and just gave up and ordered same thing as friend when I truly wanted a big delicious hamburger of some kind but expect to have been disappointed with that too. I have no clue how you would get at least 1/4 cup of water on the eggs and the replacement one's were not over medium in any way I know that over medium seems to be the hardest to cook but well done doesn't come close to even trying and the cook wasn't that busy at 1am I waited for months for this place to open and I have nothing but great things to say about the day time employee's and wish I would have waited for them to order my long anticipated meal it's not like I have money ever for anything let alone to spend on 2 orders of egg and French toast plus a side of hashbrown. In Cathedral City you'll occasionally find us having breakfast at Denny's, I want to share with you my recent experience with the bourbon chicken 🍗🐔 ( the quality isn't there & tastes nothing like chicken, however the recipe is not bad it's just the chicken itself )

Coffee is a medium+ roast & is great, as it is bottomless. Service is always great, people mind their own business, you will however find a weirdo or two here & there so anticipate these things ( it is Denny's).

Prices are reasonable, servers are trained enough. I have to say I've been here multiple times & whatever they don't know they will go back and ask which I find very professional instead of assuming. Lemonade's are very good as well, I highly recommend them.

Having it be practically new in the Cathedral City neighborhood makes it even better, as the entire establishment is new, let me mention a thing or two about it.

The décor is very much welcoming to "Cat City" which I personally love, from the paintings of back then representing Denny's, to simply very nice patterns inside , the paintings aren't like at other Denny's these are actually historic.

This place is awesome for kids , they have two claw machines to make of your time useful while waiting, they have items for sale with the Denny's logo, backpacks, freesbees, coffee mugs, my personal favorite the blacked out backpack 🎒.

Recommended here & there, ultimately highly new, perhaps sit at the bar & enjoy the old fashioned way of dining while observing food get plated & orders get called out back in...

I recently visited Denny’s and decided to try the Plate Lickin’ Chicken Fried Chicken, expecting a hearty and flavorful meal. Unfortunately, it was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. The chicken itself was mediocre at best, but the real issue was the gravy. It had the unmistakable taste of plain flour and water—completely bland, lacking any seasoning or depth of flavor. It was clear no effort had gone into preparing it properly. I had to heavily season it myself with salt and pepper just to make it somewhat palatable. When we expressed our concerns to the server, we were told that the location was a franchise and that the dish came as-is, with no flexibility to improve or adjust it. That response made it even more frustrating, as it felt like both the quality of the food and the customer service were treated as afterthoughts.I understand that not every dish will be perfect, but this meal didn’t even meet the most basic expectations for flavor or care in preparation.
