First off, I wish this restaurant all the best, we enjoyed the food when they were Niccolinos in a plaza on Date Palm, now moved to the Date Palm Golf Course. However our experiences…… My wife and I had lunch after a golf game (dec 11)… food was ok, took awhile to make and there was only one other table of two .. that said we reserved a table the next night, dec 12 (a Thursday) for dinner. Got to the restaurant at 5:15, were seated, only others were a table of 6 already eating. Music was not soft it was mixed feed of soft hard rock, guns and roses. lol, we laughed because at lunchtime they play nice Dean Martin. … really, think about your atmosphere please… unless of course that is what you want to play …just not our choice. Our Waitress was nice, was clear she was new, she said it, and perhaps (as we found out) not fully trained in waitressing tables. We Ordered the house wine (cab sav) was good.. and an appy, mozza sticks, also good especially the marinara sauce. … we had also ordered our meals, lasagna for my wife and I got the linguini and clams with 1/2 order of garlic toast (they dont bring bread to your table. Well, wine came and then mozza sticks (in about 15 min), sipped wine, after 40 min no main food, by now 2 other tables of 2 people had come in, ordered and were served … ok so we now know there is an issue. The other waitress came and asked us if we were ok, and if ordering food … we said we had. she went to check. Our waitress came 5 min later to say the food was coming, blamed it on the kitchen. Food came (main meal 55 min after it was ordered), my wifes meal was warm only, mine was piping hot. Obviously her’s sat while they cooked mine .. I never did get my toast it was coming they said … I ate half my meal and they said it was coming still … told them not to bother. The lasagne was just ok, but the linguine and clams was very good. Well long story to say, mgmt needs to watch the room, especially a rookie waitress (help her, train her), and not spend time in the lounge mingling with clientele (and I know the owner knows what I am talking about). Mgmt did visit the table next to us of 6 people as they finished, obviously she knew them, but did not even acknowledge us … hey people do like to know you are happy to have them in your restaurant … mgmt 101. Well will we go back?, likely not. We are in town seasonally every year so will move onto other italian restaurants, as there are plenty in PSP. That said, try it out, hopefully mgmt reads (we are not blaming the new waitress, this is a mgmt issue,)and addresses their shortfalls so your experience is...
Read moreOne of the worst experiences I have experienced at a restaurant. I can’t do dairy, so figured I would order pasta marinara, nothing fancy. That turned out to have cheese in the sauce. The staff was (at first) very nice and accommodating. They actually brought me out 2 other dishes, (once I was told the marinara had cheese in it) which I really appreciated. None were great. I probably took 2 bites and they took away the plates. I was so disappointed. I typically can go to any Italian restaurant in the valley and get a pasta dish with no cheese. Then they charged me for one of the dishes, which surprised me, since they took away a basic full plate each time. Didn’t even ask if I (or my husband) wanted to take it home. My husband would have taken it to go, if he knew they were going to charge us. The worst part was when we were leaving and one of the owners came over and asked if everything was ok. I was quite upset and at first said nothing. He literally looked at my husband, laughed and said “good luck to you”. I couldn’t believe an owner of a restaurant would mock a customer like that. After that I tried to explain what happened. He said “you come here when you have a dairy allergy?” Again, totally mocking me. When I explained that they charged me, he asked, “did you eat it?” I said “maybe 2 bites or so, but that’s it” He said to my husband “sorry for you” and walked away, went over to a table where a bartender and another staff member was and said “you’re not going to believe this story” and pointed at me. I have never experienced an owner of a restaurant treating a customer so badly. I tried to be so nice to the staff, and felt really bad about sending the food back. In fact I told them, I really wanted this place to make it. (Since they have only been open a little over 2 months) I will never go back and still can’t believe an owner treated a customer that way. I was completely appalled at the way I was mocked and treated. He obviously doesn’t know how to treat customers...
Read moreWent to dinner tonight at this place for the company Christmas party! It was a cozy little place with both indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the pond on the one side! We had appetizers a wonderful delicious salad with two different pizza appetizers a margarita, pizza, appetizer, and a meat appetizer pizza! The main course options were lasagna, sausage and peppers and chicken, marsala, and all the food and everything was amazing hot fresh flavorful, and delicious! The service was superior and very friendly and they treated you more like family than they did a customer! I will definitely be back to this place again in the future as everything from the food service and ambience was amazing! It is a little tricky and hard to find but if you're willing to give it a try, I definitely recommend this amazing place! And big shout out to the staff for letting the company host their Christmas party here as they are normally closed on weekends, but they opened up for us to have a wonderful and awesome Christmas party....
