Ordered the fried chicken special with ribs and the dry rub wings. The ribs were okay but the fried chicken and wings were overcooked and flavorless. The meat looked like and tasted like over boiled chicken where it was tough to chew. Let the server know and she was apologetic but didn’t do anything and got the manager. We also ordered a to go dish for my gf daughter. The manager came over, I showed him the chicken and he agreed it was way overcooked. We didn’t have time and reality it was so bad, I wasn’t going to just have the cook bring out something different that I would assume would be just as bad, but they also didn’t offer. The manager took the wings off the bill (the least expensive item) and charged my for the chicken and ribs combo where I didn’t eat the chicken and had them clear the plate. The server just said sorry but also really didn’t care. I asked them why I was being charged for the chicken and the server wouldn’t get the manager again. For this reason I didn’t tip, I will not spend more money at a restaurant that is making me pay for food that was so terrible I didn’t east it. The server watched over me as I filled out the bill, she shook her head and made an issue. She then said, it wasn’t my fault the food was bad. You don’t have to not tip me. The service wasn’t good, the food was terrible and they made me pay. I explained I worked in the industry for 10 years. You don’t ever charge the customer when you have to clear an uneaten plate because it’s inedible. They didn’t offer a dessert or anything to give them another shot. I will never go back, shame on the management and the server, you don’t deserve to be in...
Read moreWhat an eclectic restaurant in Cave Creek just a little north of Scottsdale!!! We had excellent service with our server, Lilly, and the food was to die for. Lilly was on top of it and brought us drinks, utensils, napkins quickly and without us asking as well. Great service! Love her! They have daily specials. Tonight, we had the taco Tuesday special, which offered a $3 margarita or Dos Equis beer with the order of the taco entree. We also ordered the onion rings & loaded potato skins for the appetizer. The onion rings were not too oily, and we loved it. The potato skins were definitely FULLY LOADED!!! We needed extra sour cream just because we love sour cream, and that was brought to us with no extra charge We ordered the brisket and fish tacos. I personally loved the brisket tacos and told my dinner dates that I would order the brisket entree next time. Yes, it was THAT good. We also ordered their famous fried chicken. Wow, it was so crispy!!! So, so good! For dessert, we ordered the apple cobbler with cinnamon swirl ice cream. Whoa - it was really good! Would eat that again! Definitely need to go with people so you can eat more of a variety!!! I loved all of it and wished my stomach was larger to be able to eat more! 😆 🤣 😂 Would highly recommend going a little out of the beaten path to go to The...

We stopped by the Horny Toad Restaurant during Bike Week and were pleasantly surprised to snag a table on a Sunday afternoon—though I’m sure it’ll get even busier as the week rolls on! We chose the patio seating, and our waitress was fantastic—attentive, friendly, and on top of everything without missing a beat.
For starters, we had the jalapeño poppers and onion rings—classic bar fare done right, crispy and delicious. Then came the real stars: the brisket Reuben (perfectly prepared, packed with flavor) and the brisket tacos (so juicy and tasty!). Every bite was spot-on, and the portions were generous.
But the real entertainment was the scene around us! Bike Week brought an awesome crowd—bikers from all over, decked-out Harleys, and yes, even some scantily clad biker chicks (no judgment here, just part of the fun!). As a fellow Harley rider (though I left mine at home this trip), I loved the lively, rowdy-but-friendly atmosphere.
Great food, killer vibe, and top-notch service—Horny Toad nailed it. We’ll definitely be back, especially during Bike Week for the extra people-watching and energy. If you’re in Cave Creek, don’t miss this...
