Let me tell ya, about 25 years ago, I would hear these awesome stories from my older brother (he is 10 years older than me). These stories would involve him and his friends par taking in the devils lettuce, and back then, Krispie Kreme and waffle house was 24/7 right there in cayce. Now these dudes would go at like 2am, each would order a fresh original glaze dozen and a gallon of chocolate milk, then see who could destroy it the fastest. These fresh, warm doughnuts will mush into perfectly bite-sized balls of magical, melt in your mouth, heaven. I would be so envious that these dudes (my bro and his several friends) would sneak back into the house out in gaston without waking my mom up. It always woke me up, but these dude would give me and leftovers from the night to stay quiet. Hey, it worked every time. By the time the leftover doughnuts got to me, they were no longer warm but very fresh. At that young age, I could only imagine one right off the line. We'll fast forward to today, and I love to experience this with my teenage daughters. Not the devils lettuce but the enjoyment of a fresh original dozen and a gallon of chocolate milk. I tell ya idk what my stomach was made of back then, but now the whole family shares that dozen and the milk 🤣🤣🤣 they also still mush into a perfect bite size when they are fresh off the line. Imo there aren't many places from my childhood that's still open, much less doing things the same exact way. When I ride by and see that hot and fresh light, it brings back so many memories and since of gratitude in being able to keep these memories fresh for me. This location is a 10 out of 10. You'll make memories for sure and enjoy the meal, no doubt, but keep in mind, to me, this is the magic of THIS LOCATION. I've been to others in the state, and as far away as Colorado, for me, it's this location that has the magic. If you guys see that red hot and fresh light on, swing by and try one, if you don't like it, contact me and I'll gladly give you your buck back, but that ain't gonna happen. Krispie Kreme...
Read moreReally frustrated at the lack of customer service here. I’m a health professional so I eat doughnuts once a year (my birthday treat to myself).
Upon walking in and standing at the counter for 5 minutes before one of the ladies told me that the line is about four feet behind me (when I came in no one was in line, but now it’s backed all the way to the door). I was told that I had to get in the back of that line. Since I was so excited to get my yearly treat to myself I did not hesitate and did what was asked.
After being in that line for over 20 min I decided to place my order online because I had been there almost 30 minutes already. Another few minutes go by and I’m finally a the front, same lady I inform her that I placed an order online. She says that well were not going to start on that order for another 10 min and just goes to the next person in line. (Had I not paid already I would e just walked out and went somewhere else). So she ran all the orders for the few that were behind me and they ALL received their orders before me. Now I’m pissed b/c I’ve been here almost an hour at this point.
Then she brings my order and it’s cold, the doughnuts are as hard as rocks and I nicely asked if I could wait for some fresh ones because these are cold and hard. The lady tells me “No”.
So I decided just to leave a review of my experience and visit another Krispy Crème on another day. I also wanted to purchase some of their decorative cups as gifts but no one would help me to check out so I just put them down and left. No need to start an issue when I clearly want...
Read moreThe best! Hot, fresh glazed donuts floating down the conveyor! Yum. The only thing I will "ding" Krispy Kreme on as a whole is that the flavor and quality on the filled donuts have gone way down. They still can't be beat on the glazed. The children of today will never know this but there was a time when the lemon filling inside a Krispy Kreme lemon-filled donut tasted like your grandmother had stood in front of a stove and made a custard using real lemons. And I am not a senior citizen so it really wasn't that long ago. What they use today tastes artificial like melted Lemon Heads candies and fake lemon-flavored Dum Dum lollipops. I think they started changing the filling formulas about 5 years ago. It was right around the time they came out with the New York cream cheese donut. They filling was so dead on and so reminiscent of a really good cheesecake that one bite would send your eyes rolling to the back of your head. Sheer bliss! Then, several months passed and the next time I went, the filling had been changed to an overly sweetened, weirdly coconut/vanilla flavored concoction. No real cream cheese. I crossed my fingers and bought a couple for my mom an I (in addition to the glazed)on this last visit in hopes that they'd changed the formula by popular demand. Nope! But all in all, Krispy Kreme is a good donut shop and this specific store gets enough turnover (especially on weekends) that you're certain to see a bustling atmosphere and get piping hot glazed donuts (and coffee, if that's...
