I went in there on Monday evening a little after 730 pm and ordered the Monday special which they have every Monday. The server let me know that the only thing they had left was French fries and sweet potato fries. I then asked the server for sweet potato fries but at no additional charge since it was no fault of my own that the restaurant ran out of baked sweet potatoes(which is what I originally requested). She stated that she would get a manager and I said okay. I was also advised that the restaurant only had sweet n low for the unsweet tea due to the fact that the owner was too cheap to buy it anymore and refused to buy it since he observed another customer stuffing some of the sweetener in her purse. šš¤¦š»āāļøThe coowners named Paul and Joanna walked over. I then stated that I felt that I shouldnāt have to pay extra for sweet potato fries since it wasnāt my fault that the only option available for sides was French fries and sweet potato fries. He very rudely said no and had the worst attitude of anybody I have ever seen. I advised him that I was diabetic and that I couldnāt have white potatoes. Then he suddenly remembered that he had one sweet potato left and I told him that I would take it. After he left the table, the server also let me know that the same way he was speaking to me is the exact same way that he talks to his employees. She stated that he has yelled at her and other employees before. Paul has no regard for his customers or his employees. The food came out and it was nasty. The food had been fried, left under a heat lamp and then put back in the fryer to heat it up. The breading on the shrimp and the hush puppy rings were soggy and not crispy at all. The potato looked as if someone took a bite of it before they brought it out. Hell maybe Paul got a little hungry before he put it on the platešš¤·š»āāļøI am utterly disappointed at the food, the service, the management. You would think that as much money as this place makes on Mondays with their special, they could afford to get some Splenda for their customers, not run out of food that they have listed on the menu, maybe fix the building up a little and be a little nicer. Paul you really need to do better. It cost...

So I guess the restaurant and I can share the blame on that one. However I am still not satisfied with my experience today. When I called to inquire about the missing items from my order I was giving false information. The only wrong that was acknowledged was the fact that they gave us hush puppies for one of our orders over the Texas toast. They also didn't give us any honey butter and they shorted us a piece of fish. One of our orders was the 3 item combo that should've consisted of clam strips, catfish, and flounder. To my knowledge I know that with each item of fish you order comes with two pieces of each but we were only given three and Maddison stated that was because it only came with three and that honey butter only came with ordering a sweet potato and that I could come back for the toast. I requested to speak to a manager, and of course, I was told that the manager was not in but even if I did speak to him or her that they would say the same thing. However I was able to contact the Broad River location and was provided the correct information which stated thatwe would have gotten 2 piece kf fish for each type ordered and that we woud get one honey butter per plate but would have to pay for additional sauces. The irony is that we actually did pay for extra sauses but more than likely still was shorted. So again I stress to check you order before you leave or go to the Broad...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband, mother-in-law and I went to this restaurant on Sunday August 2, 2015 for supper. I ordered the ribeye steak dinner and each of them ordered the fried shrimp special. My husband is a huge seafood lover and doesn't mind paying a hefty price for the food so long as it is good and FRESH. Their menu boasts of their food being of fresh quality. You will see that on the back of the menu. My husband receives his plate, tries the shrimp and asks our waitress if the shrimp was fresh. She did not know so she asks whomever would know the answer. She comes back and says that it's frozen. My husband asks for the manager who eventually came to the table with a vague apology and offers $2.00 off the price. REALLY?! My husband states to her that he could understand frozen shrimp at a fast food restaurant such as Captain D's but not at a place such as Ocean View. He told the manager that the discount was not good enough and refused to pay for his meal. Now, furthermore, get this...I had also ordered a meal to go for my son. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with cheese on it and fries on the side. It came out boxed up as it should. We came home, opened it up and this is what I saw...an open-faced sandwich with a piece of flounder on it. Folks, I am a local resident, not being more than 20 minutes from this hell hole (by the way, it really was too hot for comfort in the establishment) and I will NEVER go back. If you are visiting us from out of town, please don't go there! Our town has many other really good...
