My family and I went to this restaurant in Cayce for the first time on September 19th. Upon walking into the restaurant I expected to have a seat and have a waiter or waitress come to my table, instead we had to stand in a long line like we were at Taco Bell.
There was no one there to give directives as to how to order. The directions were written for you to read. I worked hard all day, I didn’t want to have to stop and read directions on how to place an order for food.
Once it was our turn to place an order, I really didn’t know if I was going to get just the tacos or the additives like lettuce and sliced tomatoes or even chips.
It just felt like a lot of work and the anxiety is high because you have about twenty people waiting to get served and they are looking at you like hurry up.
The server was also looking at me when I asked a question and I didn’t appear to understand what I was saying. Again, that was a lot of stress to get something to eat after Ive already taught school all day. Then we had to wait there until our order was ready before we could sit down. Again, I high class Taco Bell.
Once we received our meal, my family members did not receive any chips, which is free at most Mexican restaurants. They are alsO FRESH AND HOT.
I ordered the shrimp quesadillas and I had to pay extra for the items like the roasted bell peppers, etc. that come with the quesadillas at a Mexican restaurant. The shrimp quesadillas were greasy and fulled with some horrible cheese. It was disgusting. I couldn’t eat it. The whole night was just a bad experience.
I will stick to my traditional Mexican restaurants and stay far away from this restaurant.
If you have worked hard all day at work and you want to go to a restaurant that will put you back to work, go to this restaurant. Oh by the way, they have the nerve to have a top section when you pay for your order. Why do you give them a tip? You do all the work. I guess you know, I will...
Read moreThe good: Tacos were great and quality. Had al pastor, barbacoa, and fish. I like that you can add different toppings, I prefer more traditional. The churros were excellent, and I'm picky about that. I miss a good Cali churros and this was close. Chips were good, thick, crunchy. Salsa bar is great with several types of salsas. Mild one was a bit runny but pretty good. Hot one was my fav. The building itself looks great. Very new and clean. The embroidery on the seats is impressive. The not so good: This is not like a restaurant where you sit down and have a server. You walk in, get in line, try and figure out a confusing menu with unknown pricing, you order and have the food assembled while you stand there, and then pick a seat. I personally don't like this. I don't like how unclear the menu is. Certain toppings on the menu cost more but it's unknown when you tell them to put it on. Also, after you order your food, if you want beer you have to go to a separate area to order that beer and wait again for service while your food is getting cold. There must be a better way of doing this. I would much rather be served at a restaurant than deal with this. For the price you're paying for the food, why not just be a normal restaurant with a server? Final thoughts: I really enjoyed the food and atmosphere, but absolutely hated the ordering process and drink process. The quality of good food, atmosphere, and friendly staff made up for the other stuff. I still have no idea how much a...
Read moreY’ALL, I’m DONE with Taqueria Nayarith! 😩 The food? Okay, the tacos SLAP—juicy al pastor, spicy salsas, straight-up fire. I was hooked at first. But every time I come back, the portions SHRINK. My $4 taco is basically a teaser now, like they’re rationing the meat! 🥑💸 And don’t even get me started on the chips—they taste like cardboard left out in the rain. Total letdown. 🤢
The counter setup? A STRAIGHT-UP DISASTER. They give you a number, you pay, but then you’re supposed to just… stand there, clutching your number like it’s a raffle ticket, to tell them your toppings. This backs the line up to the parking lot! Everyone’s confused, workers are snapping, it’s pure chaos. Fix this nonsense! 😵💫
The staff? Rude half the time, acting like I’m ruining their day by ordering. Long waits EVERY visit—20 minutes for two tacos when it’s dead? Why? Because the workers keep screwing up orders. I watched them mix up three people’s food in one go. 🤦♂️
And the WILDEST part? This dude making my burrito is so short his APRON is literally SWEEPING across my food while he scoops rice. 😳 I’m like, “BRO, my burrito isn’t your apron’s runway!” That was it for me. I’ve been here a handful of times, but I’m OUT. Good tacos can’t save this circus. Hit up any other taqueria in South Carolina and save your sanity. ✌️...
