The first time we went here it was a nice experience and we thought we found a new place to eat. Unfortunately, every time we've tried since there's been some sort of issue that sorta ruined our meal, from rude waiters to not having outdoor seating on sunny 70F days.
This weekend was no exception. My fiancee ordered online and I headed down to pick up the food. I was told by the waitress to go to the bar to pickup (what?). This went poorly. It took 2 minutes to be acknowledged and asked to 'wait a minute'. It was 9 minutes later that I was even asked what I was there for (I was watching the time because I was anxious about the food getting cold). That's a pretty ridiculous wait. I'll note that during this time the bartenders were leisurely making drinks, which I guess makes sense for a bar, and is probably why you don't want food pickup to be handled at the bar (duh).
Things just got worse from there. My fiancee called me and told me that they called her and told her the thing I wanted from the menu wasn't available. So they switched it out with something else. I didn't want the something else. I really only like one item they make; most of the other options are mediocre at best. This is literally the definition of bait and switch. They apologized, briefly, but there was no real acknowledgement of how this sort ruined the only meal I'd had time for that day for me. Not even a token $5 off, or comping of my replacement food (which is what should have happened).
The waitress who brought me my food happily pointed out how it was even cheaper than what I ordered originally, as if they saved me money. But I knew that was an option before I ordered; I ordered the more expensive item because that's what I wanted. If I knew they wouldn't have anything I wanted, we would have ordered somewhere else, and we should have been given the information at the appropriate time and given the option of doing that.
If that wasn't bad enough, it turns out my food was somehow ready about 10+ minutes before my fiancee's. By the time they handed it to me it was just warm, and by the time I got home 'lukewarm' would have been a stretch. In the end I ate a few bites, but ended up throwing mine away and making my own food...on a day that I was already working from sunup til midnight. At least my fiancee's was hot and good, though, so we got some value at least.
This just isn't worth it, and is becoming a little too common. I'm not usually looking for exceptional food from restaurants anymore. I don't need some creative fusion, extravagant flare, or crazy marketing either. All I want from a restaurant at this point is consistency. Be open during normal hours and deliver what I expect when I expect it. Let's start with that. The few restaurants that do that around here get most of our business. None of the other stuff is worth it when weighed against the anxiety of whether I'll even get to eat this time around...
I go to work and have to do my job right every day. Why is it considered so unreasonable anymore to expect others to...
Read moreOur friends invited us out for what was supposed to be a nice dinner, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a very disappointing experience. To start, it took about 15 minutes just to place our drink order—even though the restaurant wasn’t busy. We ordered two beers, a glass of wine, and a water (they don’t offer blended drinks), but 35 minutes later, I still hadn’t received my water. Meanwhile, my tacos arrived—dry and flavorless—with nothing to wash them down. Strangely, our entrées were served before our appetizers. To make things more awkward, my boyfriend and I had to share a plate because our order was either typed in incorrect or just plain out stupidity. The same happened to our friends, who thankfully they’re married but felt awkward leaning into each other to eat. When we asked about the issue, it was mostly ignored by staff. One food runner stood out positively—she was attentive, made sure I finally got water, and followed up with the missing beers. She also connected us with the manager, who did listen to our concerns. However, the resolution offered was minimal—only 20% off, and only applied to the least expensive items on our bill. Our server only returned after noticing us speaking with the manager, but still said nothing and never checked in again. Sadly, this is the first time in my life I’ve left a restaurant without leaving a tip, which reflects how poorly we were treated. Despite hearing good things about this place in the past, our experience was far from it. Looking back at the reviews we are not the only people that have been treated this poorly. The service was inattentive, the food disappointing, and the overall experience unacceptable. We will not be returning—and as I write this, we’re already headed elsewhere to salvage the evening with a proper meal and decent drinks. It’s clear that there’s a serious lack of leadership at this restaurant. The staff seemed disengaged and uninterested in providing even basic service, and management appeared to do little more than stand behind the bar, completely disconnected from what was happening on the floor. If the owner truly cares about the success of this business, the current state of operations should be deeply concerning. There’s no accountability, no urgency, and no hospitality—which reflects poorly on everyone, from the top down. If the owner has any interest in turning this around or making things right, a formal apology should be the bare minimum—along with a full refund for our experience. We’ll definitely be sharing this experience with our friends and family so they can avoid the same frustration. I wish I could leave a zero-star review, but unfortunately, one star is the lowest...
Read moreSep 2025 == Came back for lunch. Got a Turkey Club and their Hot to Trot Smash Burger this time. Obviously weekday lunches are not their busy times as there were maybe three or four other tables in use the whole time we were there. While we enjoyed our visit, we did freeze as it appeared to be in the 50's inside (we should have sat outdoors as it was a nice day!), and the turkey club was on the dry side. Nonetheless, service was quick and the burger and fries were good so we will definitely be coming back! (but bringing sweaters and coats! :-))
Not in the mood to cook tonight and wanted to try this place since it moved here years ago. We came in early, but it never really got busy even though there were hockey games going on. We found the outside entrance(s) and were immediately sat at a table. Perusing the menu, we had some questions and our waitress was more than happy to spend the time with us to answer all of them. She did not know the answers to some of the beer ones, and she was honest about that, which we truly appreciated. She also noticed that we were struggling to decide on which burgers to order, so she informed us that since this was a Tuesday, their special of the night is to have any three of their regular house burgers made into sliders as a meal. What a meal deal! Two of us jumped on that and got to try different combinations that appealed to us. The other member of our party tried one of the Smash burgers from the faster menu. We also swapped out the fries for the grilled zucchini (for $2 upcharge)
Since we were having similar issues with some of the unknown beers, the waitress came to the rescue again and offered a couple of samples to help us decide. Wonderful service!!!
Ultimately we placed all of our orders and got our food. We enjoyed it all. I cannot say that we liked one burger more than any other for they were all tasty. The fries were good too. the zucchini was probably the best as it was lightly grilled and had a very tasty balsamic glaze on top of the tomatoes and other toppings.
About the only negative in the place is that it could use a refresher. It is clearly used hard - and looks it.
The complete tab for all of - including beers, food, and tip, was under $25 per person which is very...
