We tried dinner and breakfast. The chicken fajita wrap was full of grease and soggy. The Philly cheese steak was roast beef with no seasoning. Glad they suggested aju. Kids food was good. Fries on point. Breakfast was a huge disappointment. Country potatoes had something in it from last week. It’s pictured. These hard potatoes were not fresh cut and cooked that day as you see pictured. They put pancakes in it as well. The sausage pattie was cooked with wrapper intact or partially in the meat. We could not eat it. Pic attached as well. Cooked eggs medium was raw. The white was not cooked. instead of making new the recooked them burnt. Toast well is best to not get any. 2$ for a two slices. They don’t put butter 9/10 of the toast. Worst part over all is the management staff told me parchment paper is egg. Pic shows other wise. Definitely beware when going. I’ll say a bit more. After we paid then they came to us and offered to see what they could due. Being how disgusted we were it was time to go and do away with the excuses the manager gave us. For correctly stating of the manager on the sausage he said that the parchment paper you see pictured was egg and there was nothing wrong with it. Just a reminder that manager did nothing until we ate what we could to save face. That’s all they could do and reply as you see. I hope they have changed !

We stopped by here on a trip to St. George from SLC with my family of 6. We thought we would give a local place a shot over a chain and it was ok. Overall the service was good enough, they didn't go above and beyond, but they were friendly. The food was solidly in the average court. The fries looked great, but could have been more crispy. They tasted more like mash potato sticks than fries, but they still tasted good. The fry sauce they brought has a strange overly sweet taste more like Russian dressing. My Chicken Fried Stake was good, but nothing to write home about. The potatoes were not great, but passable with the gravy. Without the gravy I don't think I would have eaten them. My wife's sandwich had huge chunks of turkey, but she said it made eating the sandwich difficult. Overall the food gets a solid 3 out of 5. The service was fast, but not really friendly - some may prefer that. Maybe we should have gotten the breakfasts, but I wouldn't go back for the dinner options.

It makes me very happy that places like this still exist! American flags as a part of the decor, a framed copy of the declaration of independence, and a very comfortable setting for breakfast. I ordered french toast, 2 eggs, and 2 slices of bacon and had a final bill of 7 dollars! The food is cheap, the restaurant itself was completely full of patrons, and the service was very competent and sincere. There were 5 of us, and we asked the server to have 2 people's checks paid by the other 3...the server was a little puzzled, but she handled it like a champ!!! We experienced an issue with incorrect eggs and it was fixed very quickly, and we also witnessed the speed with which they responded to guest feedback-- instead of ignoring a wobbly table complaint, they immediately relocated the customers and had maintenance come out to fix the table within 5 minutes. Great job All American Diner!!!

It's disheartening to realize a place where in the beginning of eating at American Diner, good atmosphere and good food was a place to always go but now as of lately, disappointment especially in the afternoon/evenings. Ordered items where server and/or cooks not paying attention to ordered items - were wrong yet one was corrected. Okay taken care of. Dining experience - started off okay but then turned uncomfortable as the afternoon staff consist now of mainly high school and college student's which their on cell phones, congregated in their groups of chatter and limited observing the needs of their customers... causing the atmosphere to feel uneasy as servers were just wanting to lag around, just get by, not wanting to get things done and prepared for the dinner shift. Yes it's understandable that being in a College town, the owner is wanting through these younger generations, to make his diner more college oriented by hiring only young folks yet hoping that work ethic is being taught. How ever what made for uncomfortable and unprofessional is observing two job applicants come in - a young lady which the owner hugs ( yeah he may know her but still...be professional about it). I'm sorry but dressing inappropriate in short shorts, tight tank top and sneakers for an interview, No. Anyway, Interview proceeds, she's hired on right there and then she proceeds to goof around, hugging girls talking and laughing loud, which causes her glass to fall, breaking the glass - beverage to spill all over the floor with customers near by all totally unprofessional in a place of business in front of customers. Meanwhile, the other young man who by the way came in a couple minutes after the young lady is dressed accordingly (dress shirt, pants and shoes) is told by the owner to wait. How long? Don't know. Good luck to the young man. However how interesting that No Jobs were posted, in fact they were covered up....so. hmmm. Which is pretty sad to say that now a days It's not what you know, experience you have BUT WHO you know. Would we return? In time but only for the morning crew. They're more...

We were greeted promptly and seated. Drinks were ordered and brought out quickly. I ordered the surf and turf with potato salad and coleslaw as my sides. This included an 8oz sirloin steak and 4 breaded shrimp. The shrimp was cooked well without the breading being overly heavy. The steak on the other hand... Super heavy on the seasonings, almost like eating a mouthful of grit with each bite. The steak was ordered medium rare but came out as medium well. Quite a bit tougher than I like. There was more sawing at it than cleanly cutting through it. The potato salad was very mustardy and lacking other flavors. So bland! The coleslaw had a distinct lack of dressing, making the cabbage flavor extremely pronounced. Once again, so bland! Salt and pepper would definitely be recommended for both sides.

The waitress was great though. Good personality and attentive even as they got busy.

You can tell this is on older building, and the interior has seen better days.

Disappointed to the say the least in their dinner. I used to live in Cedar City and enjoyed their breakfast which is a great value with delicious breakfast items.

I wouldn't recommend eating dinner dishes here, but I would for breakfast items! Luckily they serve breakfast...
