Brad's Food Hut — Restaurant in Cedar City

When I first arrived at Brad's Food Hut in Cedar City I was relatively new to the area. My wife and I have been looking for a suitable replacement to the Training Table since they closed down, and have yet to find a place. However, this was an okay contender.

I ordered a double cheeseburger, and my wife got fish and chips. The fish and chips weren't that great at all. My wife ended up going to the counter to get a burger because she was disappointed with the fish and chips. I couldn't even finish one. It wasn't very good at all.

However, my double cheeseburger was pretty good. I wouldn't say it was anything stunning but a pretty good burger. If I had to compare it to any other place I'd say it is a pretty good clone of Arctic Circle's burger. There really wasn't anything special about it. It was just your average burger, however, even being that it was pretty good.

The fries were probably the best part. They were nice and crispy, yet still soft. We really did enjoy them, but we did have one complaint about this. We are Utahns. We like fry sauce. We want fry sauce. And we weren't given that much fry sauce. They gave us a little cup of fry sauce, and that was it. When we asked for more there was a charge for each extra cup we wanted. I understand that they are spending money on this stuff and it does have an added cost, but there are some things that should be complimentary, or given a bit more generously initially if they are going to charge for extra.

While we're speaking of charging, the cost of a drink is pretty high, and refills will cost you as well. This isn't 90s anymore. No place charges for soda refills. The only places I can think of that do actually charge for refills are gas stations and movie theaters, and even then some movie theaters will refill your drink for free on the first refill.

Overall, this place is alright. It's nothing spectacular, but it's also not a waste of time. The staff was very friendly, and the owner of the joint was very nice as well. My wife has gone back a couple times since this visit because we did enjoy the food. We know that it's not extraordinary but it is good food. However, we've decided that we are take-out customers for this location, and I'd recommend that as well to everyone. You can take it home, make as much fry sauce as you want, and not have to worry about excess charges to your card if you want something that...

I hate to have to leave a bad review and it does not happen often with me. I have eaten at Brad's many times before and had great experiences . It was my go to when I didn't feel like cooking. Unfortunately last night Sep 15 2023 changed my view of Brad's. The dinner rush was normal for Brad's and we waited in line for 40 min. This was not an issue since that is to be expected during the dinner rush. The people working were nice and I did not have an issue with the service. What I had an issue with was the size of the burger. As we were leaving my wife checked the order and to our suprise the burger was the saddest looking burger I had ever seen. This is NOT normal for Brad's. The burger was so thin that I had to switch to metric to measure it. We turned around and went back since this was not right. When we got back to Brad's it was acknowledge that the burger did look sad. We were given the excuse that it was busy and sometimes the burgers get smashed too much, then we're told it was new cooks and that the burgers were better earlier in the day. I have been to Brad's at different times and never have the burgers been anywhere close to this bad. Unfortunately I am left to assume that the other people that were in line for 40 + min were experiencing the same shock when they opened their bags. Overall not a great experience.

Came to get lunch and it took 30 minutes to get a burger, which normally I wouldnt mind because they were busy and I understand because used to work in the food industry and I get it, but I had to get back to work. I wouldnt go back there if I was on a time frame. After 30 min of waiting I asked about how much longer the wait would be( i had to start trying to decide If i should just leave. I couldnt wait another 10-15 min and would have to get a refund because I had to get back to work).The employee was a little rude and just said they had a lot of orders and it was coming then didnt even give me a time estimate. I think politely asking how much longer after waiting 30 minutes isnt unreasonable. Then I got my food and this is the second time my burger was all smashed up and poorly put together then even the tater tots were kind of mush. I couldnt pick them up because they would fall apart. My bag also had a hole in the bottom so that walking out to my car I had to hold the bottom of my bag because half of the bag was blown out.
