The donuts and smoothie were good enough. But the milk tea tasted like soap.
EDIT: The service was questionable. When we returned the disgusting drink and explained that it tasted like soap, we were told by three different people that's how it's supposed to taste. While they were kind about it, they made me pay for a replacement. Frustrated, we did.
But I would not even bother with this review except that after I left I got three rude emails from who I assume is the owner. That, to me, is unacceptable.
When I got the receipt from square, it included a survey. So I took it and I left a private review explaining why I was dissatisfied. I didn't care to complain publicly, but then I got 3 rather rude emails in reply. The first one said, "Mrs. Iâm sorry that you not understand how or what milk tea is ? My menu couldnât explain more or details so why donât you ask if you first time try? I told you I would replace a new one to you if I made it wrong but not what you donât like? and you ask for a replacement ? So what happens if all flavors you are not like it?"
Yes, I know what milk tea is, I've ordered milk tea from all over the state. Their milk teas were listed and labeled separate from black and green teas (they told us it tasted like soap because it had green tea in it). Second, we had had that flavor of milk tea at other locations and know what it should taste like, and it was not like soap. Third, the green teas I have had in past, also do not taste like soap.
The next two emails I got said, "Lucky that I have only customers like you đ . And I have a right to refuse your service too." and "Go and ask every milk TEA. TEA .place if you donât understand."
And this morning I get a fourth email that says, "I have a video on my camera to show that you were asking for replacement a new one for free ? And then you write a review said that you were willing to pay for the new one? What kind of people are you?"
I am not disputing that I asked for a drink that tasted like soap to be replaced. And I never said I was "willing" to pay for a new one, but that I did pay for a new one, which your video would also show. But that's not even why I'm writing this review. I'm writing this review because I continue to get rude emails from this establishment.
They are a small shop in a small college town. Their donuts were good enough. I would probably have gone back the next time I went through town if I had not been gaslighted when I said my drink tasted like soap. And I definitely would not have written a public review if I had not received several harassments emails in response...
Read moreThe girl working the register was extremely nice however the coffee and donuts werenât great. My boyfriend ordered a medium hot coffee and was told to make it himself (not an issue takes two seconds). The medium is definitely a small so just order a size up if you choose to go and the coffee counter was extremely dirty. The sugar container was pretty gross and there wasnât a spoon provided to scoop from the container. We asked an employee and she opened the nondairy creamer container and just tossed the scoop into the sugar bin. The woman came over to double check my coffee and I explained again what it was (medium cold brew caramel just milk) - making sure to tell her no additional sweetener. When I left there was sweetener included. Not my biggest concern the cold brew was still good. My main concern was the cleanliness of the coffee area during a time where it was not that busy and at the very least could have been wiped down. The donuts were alright but definitely had a weird taste to them like very greasy but something could have expired? The people are super nice but just a heads up if youâre concerned about cross contamination and...
Read moreWhen I first tried this place I was disappointed on the donut selection. It was only 8am and they were pretty much out of the 3 different types of donuts I asked for (old fashioned, maple bar, and cinnamon roll.) I didnât go back for a year. Update to 2023 and Iâve gone back and am very happy with the selection and quality. Being honest they are a bit pricey but for the area and being the only donut shop, what are you gonna do. Only thing that will lower prices maybe is a competing donut shop in the area but that ainât the case. Aside from prices, the donuts are delicious and thatâs what keeps me coming back now. The ONLY thing Iâd say they can improve in is the drive-thru turnaround time. Sometimes one car will take almost 10 minutes. Not always but sometimes. But in there defense, they are a donut shop, not a McDonalds, so if thatâs an issue for you, you can always walk in side.
Thanks to the owner for operating a legit donut shop business in the area. If you read this and take anything away from it. Drive-thru time and high prices are my...
