Driving through town on our way back home to California from a 2 week Road trip with the family and HAD TO STOP to get some rest in Cedar City. I tapped the look for restaurant icon on Google and TACOS EL JEFE popped up. As a Mexican myself I am always wary of knockoff Mexican food BUT we decided to stop in since the pictures online seemed like the real thing. We were in HEAVEN. THIS PLACE IS THE REAL THING. We mostly had tacos and the rolled tacos (taquitos) and the fixings (salsa, cucumbers, radish, sauteed onions) and OOH MY GOD!!! It was that moment that we took a vote and decided to pass up eating in Las Vegas for breakfast and come right back in the morning. The staff was friendly and the food amazing. The hours are great 8-midnight. As a traveler I appreciated that because many of the other places around here were closed when we were coming in to town. Sorry I have no pictures to show and that's because I was busy eating that I didn't realize I didn't take pictures until I was going to write this review. I will definitely keep this place in mind when I pass through here again and I will definitely tell people about this GEM...
Read moreI drove alone. It wasn't the first time, but it was the first time in a while. We always stop in the same places, but not this time. This time, Cedar City was going to deliver me something more. But I knew that to get it, I would have to find it. So I found Tacos El Jefe, and it was pretty great. Just imagine your favorite Mexican place, like Beto's or Roberto's or Albertaco's, and then imagine the best meal you've had there, and my meal at Tacos El Jefe was just a bit better than that. Not to mention, the cashier made me feel welcome. So in conclusion, my recommendation to all general passerby of Cedar City is "keep doing what you're doing." But for any of those passerby who are looking into Tacos El Jefe and reading this review, my recommendation is "Go to Tacos El Jefe, and check them out. See what it's about. Order some food and let me know how it is. Don't be a jerk, and make sure to try some limes on your food or in your soda. Live for the first time in your life! Live and eat Mexican food here. If not, then simply carry on with whatever you're doing, and heck, feel free to let me know how that goes for you...
Read moreA love Poem for Taco El Jefes:
In the heart of the kitchen, where flames dance with grace, Taco El Jefe crafts a masterpiece, a love I embrace. Carne asada whispers in the sizzling pan, A symphony of flavors, a culinary plan.
Wrapped in a tortilla, a canvas of delight, The burrito emerges, a love at first bite. Juicy tendrils of beef, kissed by the fire, A dance of spices that never tire.
Black beans like secrets, hidden within, Salsa serenades with a zesty spin. Guacamole, a creamy, verdant embrace, Each bite a journey through time and space.
Zest, a companion in this love affair, Cilantro confetti, suspended in air. Cheese, a melty, golden decree, Binding the elements, a union decree.
Oh, Taco El Jefe, your burrito divine, A love story unfolded, in every design. I savor each bite, a passionate duet, A symphony of flavors, I'll never forget.
Carne asada, my heart's desire, In the world of burritos, you light the fire. Taco El Jefe, your culinary art, A love letter written, from...
