I’m writing this to help protect other customers.
I brought my car in to have the rear struts replaced. Less than 70 miles later, two rear lug nuts fell off while I was driving — a dangerous situation that could have caused a serious accident. Thankfully, I caught it in time.
When I returned to the shop to express concern, the mechanic (who is also the owner) claimed he told my daughter — who dropped off the car — to return after 50 miles to re-torque the lug nuts. However:
• This was never communicated • No documentation was provided • And according to a licensed mechanic with 40+ years of experience, there is no standard need to re-torque lug nuts after any repair. If properly torqued during installation, they should not loosen like this.
Even more concerning, when I returned and he re-checked the wheels, I watched him torque each rear lug nut multiple times — even after I had already tightened them myself. That speaks volumes about how loose they were after the initial repair.
I also want to note that the mechanic had been heavily flirting with me which made the situation feel even more unsettling when things went wrong. He mentioned he’s overwhelmed, running the shop alone and behind on work — which may explain mistakes, but it doesn’t excuse them.
I gave him a respectful chance to make things right and proposed a professional solution to recoup the repair costs through a program. He declined, saying: “I didn’t do anything wrong.”
This review isn’t about money — it’s about accountability and safety. If this happened to me, it could happen to someone else. Please...
Read morealright… story goes- my best friend and i were traveling from the east coast to west coast, my car breaks down in the desert (classic right?) we limp to Cedar City Utah, and by happenstance and the Lords direction find Chucks shop.
i don’t typically go out of my way to leave reviews but i find it very important to let anyone looking into his car care understand that he is not only a good mechanic but a good man.
given my car’s condition he had to order some parts so it was going to be a few days in Cedar city for us… we were sleeping in my car for this cross country trip and therefore had no where to stay, and he offered we park in the back lot so we didn’t have to risk taking the car anywhere. along with giving us many recommendations for food and things to do nearby.
i’m a young woman and so is the friend i’m traveling with, and long story short- chuck pulled through like a dad would for both of us. changed my oil, checked fluids, made sure everything was safe and sound while he had it and treated us with the utmost respect and kindness. AND we all had some pretty great laughs. he ALSO went out of his way to show us step by step how to change a tire just in case we got in a pinch the rest of the time on the road before we headed out.
i honestly couldn’t recommend him more, if you want service that comes with integrity, eye contact, good quality work and just a funny guy, head this way. i promise you won’t be...
Read moreBack in 2023 I brought my Truck to Chuck because it was missing. Chuck replaced the plugs and wires charged me and sent me on my way. I brought the truck to Chuck several times because it still was missing. Chuck seemed baffled and in total disbelief. I brought it back to him a total of 9 times counting this last time on the 30th of September. Each time it seemed like Chuck was taking stabs in the dark, and almost every time It became last on his list for repairs. Many times I would bring the vehicle to him and it would sit in the same spot for days followed with a barrage of excuses. Just this Tuesday the 7th of October he tells me he is not going to correct the two year problem he guaranteed was warranted for parts and labor because I let him know of my dis satisfaction with his so called diagnosis, and his work ethic. Chuck seems to think he can promise a job to be done but then take several more days when a guy depends on his vehicle for work. He’s a nice enough guy, but he should have diagnosed the problem to begin with and not promise a completion date and take another few days before he even touches the vehicle. He would also lie and tell me called but record on my phone...
