Sunny's Cake Shop — Restaurant in Cedar City

I’ve seen this place from the street for several months, but decided to go in today when I got a random craving for cheesecake. The woman working the counter was willing to answer all our questions about the different sweets for sale and I ended up purchasing quite a bit more than just cheesecake. I got the White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake which was delicious, but a bit softer than what I look for. They also had a number of croissants which were massive. I got a Boston Creme Chocolate Croissant. The crème was so delicious, especially the stuff on top, but the croissant was rather dense. It was refrigerated for some while to preserve the filling, so it was served chilled. It had some dark chocolate frosting drizzle as well.

I also got their Pistachio Crème Croissant. The filling was quite a bit thicker and fluffier in this one, compared to a more pudding like consistency for the Boston Crème.

The last thing I bought, and by far my favorite was the Strawberry Napoleon. This had fresh sliced strawberries and whipped cream sandwiched between two crumbly flaky pieces of pastry bread and dusted with powdered sugar. It was amazing.

The ladies at Sunny's did our wedding cakes and pastries. I literally started bawling when I walked in and saw my cake, it was SO SO beautiful-exactly as I had described to them and wanted! AND the cake flavors we chose were so delicious and MOIST. Our pastries were amazing. My husband and I had a vacation at the Venetian in Las Vegas and ate pastries from supposedly "world class pastry chefs". I have also been to Paris and eaten some amazing pastries but none of those experiences trumped what Sunny's does. I am not exaggerating. Great experience with Malynda! About 2 weeks prior to our wedding the business changed hands to Sunny’s cake shop and dessert catering. Upon finding this out she was quick to be sure we were getting exactly what we had ordered from the previous owners. I was in a bit of a panic given the time frame but she did a FANTASTIC job in making sure all was perfect and it was! They delivered our dessert cake and other items for dessert our table and she set up everything. She went above and beyond to make sure our set up was all that we wanted and more.
