We have lived by this McDonald’s for years, so we’ve definitely been here enough times to have a good idea of the overall experience.
Where I read negative reviews, I’m a little hesitant to trust that it’s as bad as it seems, since many of us write a negative review after a singular negative experience. We often don’t go back after a bad experience.
Because we live so close and it’s convenient (or we’re insane), we keep going back. I hoped this location would get better, because in most places toxic people get phased out.
This HASN’T been the case.
I’ve been a drive-thru/dine-in customer many times, and I’ve NEVER had a visit that I felt good about.
The service is terrible. I get that many of the employees probably don’t take their job seriously. I DO expect to be treated like a human by other humans. Look, the staff here is very rude. I’ve had a large male staff slam a tray down in my face while keeping eye contact (yes, it was creepy). I didn’t even say anything to upset the guy - he was handing me my food... maybe it was a Monday?
I’ve also had staff cut me off when I’m talking, not give me my change, thrown sauce packets at me, and outright ignore me when I’ve talked to them. I’m an easy going person, and I’ve never experienced something like this in any other food establishment. You guys, it’s unreal.
Regardless - that’s not enough to keep me away if I’m hungry. Someone doesn’t have to be nice for me to get what I came for - which is to be fed.
But the food.. the orders are wrong at least a third of the time. And not even by a little - they’re usually missing at least a couple of things. The fries are never warm, the breading on the chicken is soggy, and the meat (if you can call it that) from the nuggets and chicken sandwich have the consistency of jerky. They mess up my kids happy meals often (which makes them unhappy). We’ve found PLENTY of hairs in food, and always regret when we don’t check to see if we received Diet Coke after asking for regular.
If you go in to ask them to fix or finish the order, they get even nastier. I don’t feel the need to elaborate more on that - you get the picture.
So why am I writing this review tonight?
I’m hungry, tired, and mad. I also have to wait another half hour for my partner to find food elsewhere, so why not. It’s not an interesting story necessarily, but a slice of life.
After an incredibly tough day, my partner went to grab me a burger 20 min before they closed. I know that’s cutting it close, but we hadn’t eaten all day and were starving.
My husband went through the drive-thru and waited - calling out for three minutes... nobody answered. Meanwhile, my husband could hear everything the guy in the kitchen was doing. Husband went around to the window and knocked. He knew I needed to be fed - and soon. The guy continued to ignore my husband.
My partner waited. Eventually the guy came outside to take out garbages, and rudely told my husband that they were closed. My husband not-so-gently pointed out that he’d been waiting for ten minutes and that he has another ten. The guy muttered that something was wrong with the fryers and was rather nasty to my partner. So, my partner went somewhere else where we NEVER get let down (the Del Taco down the street).
The end.
FYI - the rude guy is white, skinny, black greasy mid-length hair and has some facial hair. Late twenties? Try to avoid him.
Btw - management doesn’t care. We spoke to a manager once. He just grunted at us as he looked on with tiny eyes and a greasy chin. Over the years, we get served by a nice person here and there, but they don’t last. I think this place is probably a toxic work environment. I feel bad for all of the non-rude people who come/work here.
We kept going back because at the end of the day - they’re serving something mostly edible and we just don’t have the time to make something else work. But now, I think I will fill myself up a bowl of dog food before coming back here. Don’t worry - all is not lost. The McDonald’s in Lehi is amazing, and may be the BEST one...
Read moreI'm super upset due to the manager working today April 27, 2025 @ 12:10. They made a mistake and we paid for the wrong order, that's fine refund the money and process my order. That simple, no the manager tells me just pay the $22 difference. No because then you can't give me a receipt that way. She fights with me over it instead. She was likely going to pocket the $22 because doing the way she was trying to can make it where she can process the transaction in a way she can pocket the money. By the looks of her she likely does drugs and thats why she fought so much with not processing the order the proper way. I will never return to this location. I will drive out of my way to go somewhere else. If the girl at the first window actually talked to the person she is taking payment from she could have confirmed the order I was paying for and given me a receipt and avoided all of this. But no she just sticks out the payment thing and I have no idea what order I'm paying for. I even sat at the window wondering if I was done there or not because that interaction felt so wrong. Then she waves me forward and I noticed everything was wrong when they tried to give we a totally wrong order. So the right thing to do is. Oh yes. We messed up. Let me void that transaction and refund you the money then you can pay for the right order. OK great solved. No this is what happend. They tell us to pay the other $22, no because then you can't give me a proper receipt. The manager argues with me about it making me angry over the situation and I still gave her a chance to make it right. She knew my expectations. Refund the order and charge me in full for my order and give me a receipt. Yet she argues more and more and more. So I tell her just give me my money back and I'm leaving. This is after sitting at the window for 10 maybe 15 minutes. She gives me cash back instead of refunding my card so now I have go to my bank to deposit the cash because I don't carry cash. So I ended with no food and more of my time and gas money to solve this matter. I will never return to this Ceder Hills location. I likely would have done the transaction but the manager arguing with me looked like a really hard core drug addict and the whole situation looked and felt shady that's why I fought so hard for a proper receipt. I felt she was being shady about the transaction and trying to pocket money. A person who is a manager and argues with a customer over a customer only wanting a situation being handled the accurate way, should most likely not be a manager. She is teaching the other people on her shift howto steal from McDonalds and treating customers in a way like she owns that store. Its not her reputation she is damaging. It's McDonalds being damaged as a franchise. I bet if you watch her close enough she is likely pocketing money. But still in the end of all this I got no food and have a even worse opinion of McDonalds. I'm sure nothing will be done about the situation. I doubt these companies really even care much about these reviews anymore. If they did, this location would not be sitting at 2 stars overall. That's really telling. I can now see why this location is at such low rating. I never thought to...
Read moreDRIVE TO THE NEXT ONE. We live literally a few streets from this location. So we've been here multiple times. Each time, we say "Never again, next time we can drive to Lehi or American Fork."
But then we happen to come back a few months later and it's more of the same.
Buckle up, kiddos:
they are the absolute slowest location ever.
90% of the time we go, they get something wrong. A drink, an entire meal, our whole order. You name it, they've gotten it wrong.
the past three times (haven't gone back since), they do this thing where instead of having you wait at the pickup window, they just have you park and they'll bring it out. Okay... Not only does it not save time, but the orders get confused because we're all just parking wherever.
And I feel for the guy that has to come give us our food. Because there's NO order to the chaos. The cooks give him 3 different meals and have him figure it out. But still... The second time this happened, the guy literally threw the food into our car. I wish I could've recorded it because my husband and I were so shocked. I was in the backseat with our son, the passenger window was open, and the guy chucked it into our car without a second glance. RUDE.
Well, he was told that the guy had taken out Dr Peppers (what we ordered) so my husband MUST be wrong and we are clearly trying to score two free $1 drinks???? My husband had to wait outside our car, flag down the delivery dude, and tell him we needed drinks. 🙄
ANYWAYS. If you made it to the end of this rant, wow. Thank you 😂 please don't go to...
