I have never left $0 for a tip.
I ordered grandes tacos and asked for flour tortillas, and added a side of jalapeno rellenos. Pretty simple. A few minutes later, our waitress arrives with a taco on a plate. I told her I thought it came with two tacos and she assures me the rest is coming. Weird, but ok.
Now, she arrives with my husband's meal and the rest of mine. Mine is two corn tortillas rolled up with ground beef in them (and beans & rice). I'm assuming they're supposed to be enchiladas, but there's not a drop of gravy or sauce of any kind. At this point, we considered sending it back (which I've never done, either) but we're in a hurry. I ask for some guacamole & sour cream to make these "enchiladas" into something edible. I'm annoyed at this point, but hey, let's make the best of a bad situation. While I'm waiting I browse the menu, wondering how this could have gone so wrong. When she returns. I show her on the menu (like, pointed) what I had ordered. She laughs & explains there's also an enchilada dish called The Grande so she misunderstood. (btw these enchiladas i received sans gravy could in no way be considered "grande") I used my husband's extra tortilla to make a taco from the ground beef (very bland) and the guacamole & sour cream. The check arrives, and it's at this point we're actually angry. I had assumed my meal would be comped since it's not at all what I ordered (not even close), but it was not. AND she charged us for the guacamole & sour cream - this was the cherry on top of a bad experience. $3 for 2 tablespoons of guacamole, $1 for 2 tbsps of sour cream.
Thankfully I don't live there so "I won't be back" is moot but that's the worst tex-mex place I've...
Read moreLet me start by saying the food is fantastic. During this COVID Pandemic my wife and I have taken advantage of free delivery with favor from time to time. We immediately put them towards the top of our list. Recently though, we placed an order to add avocado and sour cream with our enchilada meal. You would think that some of these items would come as sides with an enchilada plate. Without warning and not posted on any menu, we were charged $5.00 for avocado and $2.00 for the smallest spoonful of sour cream. Quick math makes that $9.00 which is close to the entire "Enchilada Dinner" price. Here is where I get upset... I call the restaurant and ask to speak with a manager. I just wanted them to be aware that the charges did not make much sense and our point In ordering with them was to support their business. The manager proceeded to blame this on favor as he added a "better than attitude" to the conversation. I think people underestimate the power of customer service and how far it goes. We loved the place but taking advantage of customers with pricing and providing poor customer service afterwards is disappointing. Take responsibility and be open minded to possibly fixing a mistake that is easy to fix. My point was to keep this from happening to another customer because again, the food is really good. Needless to say, we will be taking our business elsewhere. In dark times that we are facing, seek to be a positive light for others. This manager and restaurant just spread more darkness rather than harmony and joy. He also charged me $9.00 for avocado and a spoonful of ranch to a customer who has ordered with them well over 15 times since lockdown....
Read moreWent to this place on May 5, to celebrate Cinco De Mayo, (along with everyone else in the area) the place was packed with a 1.5 hour wait. My party and I went to the bar to grab some drinks while we waited for a table. While the bar was very busy, other people seemed to get waited on around us. When my friend asked to speak to the manager, a very curt man said "I am the manager, what is the problem". My friend proceeded to explain that she is a diabetic and had been standing there trying to get a glass of water for 20 mins while they waited on everyone else around her. He stated they were busy, and my friend stated that she understood that, but was still upset that she had been standing there for 20 mins to put in a request for water. By that time, 2 bar seats had opened up and 2 our party of 5 sat down. The "manager" proceeded to ask what we wanted to order. He was given the order along with the request for the glass of water. He then returned with a HALF full glass of water and threw it at her and told the rest of us that we could not order any drinks. Shocked, we sat there, as we had never been treated this way. Another bar tender then stopped by to ask if we had been helped, when we proceded to say yes but didn't recieve or order, then repeated our order, the "manager" came over and told that bar tender not to serve us. We had just arrived at the resturant and it wasn't like we had already consumed "too much", it was that the "manager" didn't like that we voiced a complaint about the service. We will never return to this or any other Serranos location. Such as same as we are long time patrons...
