Round Rock Donuts, IMHO, is an iconic yet homegrown business that has flourished in every way. Let's get into one of my favorite donut spots of ALL TIME!

Pros: The dough tho The drive-thru is fast Very fresh and warm No gimmicks; Focused on taste Two locations

Side Notes: OG store opens at 4.30 AM and closes at 6.30 PM Cedar Park (CP) opens daily at 5.30 AM Check times for CP location for closing times (Varies) They do custom cakes, too (order)

What We Got: Dozen donuts (we chose vs assorted) Donut holes (glazed)

Design/Space: We've been to both locations. The OG location in DT Round Rock has seating, but it's always busy. There is not much to see, but it feels like every other donut location. However, the drive-thru line keeps it moving (a well-oiled machine) at both locations.

Drinks/Food: Round Rock Donuts stands out immediately for its signature golden-yellow color, which results from using fresh eggs in the dough instead of artificial coloring (winning!). Each donut is hand-rolled, cut, fried, and glazed, which gives it a distinct, pillowy texture--light and airy inside, with just the right amount of chew.

The classic glazed donut, eclair, and chocolate-iced donut are the favorites. They are served warm all day, and the glaze adds a delicate sweetness without overpowering the dough's rich, slightly savory flavor.

Round Rock donuts melt in your mouth--soft, fluffy, and never too sweet or greasy. The taste is balanced, with a subtle depth that differentiates them from mass-produced donuts. Whether you go for the original glazed or one of their chocolate-iced or filled varieties, the focus is always on freshness and simplicity, letting the quality of the ingredients and the traditional recipe shine through.

Staff: The staff was friendly and kind when you drove up or walked to order face-to-face. The Cedar Park location doesn't have an inside store you can walk into (the OG location in DT Round Rock does), just a drive-through (two lanes) and a walk-up order window. They serve up great donuts and have a positive attitude.

Opportunities To Improve: The coffee game could improve, but you go there for the donuts. They are great there. Also, we're all human and prone to mistakes, so double-check the order to see if it's assorted and large. There have been a couple of times when I didn't get a specific donut that we ordered. It's not a big deal as it's an outlier, but it can happen.

Summary: Round Rock Donuts is a true local icon, known for its signature golden-yellow donuts made with fresh eggs and a focus on quality over gimmicks. The hand-rolled, pillowy donuts are always served warm and fresh, boasting a light, airy texture and perfectly balanced sweetness that sets them apart from the average donut shop. With fast drive-thrus at both the original downtown Round Rock and Cedar Park locations, friendly staff, and a no-nonsense approach that lets the taste speak for itself, this spot delivers a consistently standout experience, even if the coffee could use a boost, and the occasional order mix-up happens. For anyone craving classic, melt-in-your-mouth donuts, Round Rock Donuts is a must-visit.

What a WONDERFUL set of folks at the Cedar Park location! We were missing a cinnamon roll. I placed a call to get a store credit or maybe even a refund to our credit card.

To my surprise I was told they would bring me the missing roll. Try as I might to express that "There was no need to bring it to me." They were very insistent that they would hand deliver me the missed item to make it right!

It wasn't long before Ms. Judy, who introduced herself as the store's manager, was at our front door. She not only had the missing item, but also delivered additional donuts at no charge! All along apologizing for her teams hiccup!

I myself am in the customer service business. Dealing with customers, especially over the phone, when there is a missing item can be tricky sometimes. We are all human. Things are missed from orders occasionally. It is what it is. But the Round Rock Donuts staff went ABOVE AND BEYOND what I would've expected!

We don't frequent RR Donuts often because we would be 600 lbs :). But when we are in the mood for some D-LISH donuts, we will definitely buy from RR donuts first!

WAY TO GO MS. JUDY AND TEAM!...

Round Rock Donuts has been there for years but first time we tried newer location. One twin sister works at one and one twin sister works for the other and for the last 20 years. We used to know the owners a lovely couple that also had a booth at the Antique Mall. That's when the Antique Mall was double the size with a different owner. That couple used to buy from us and we would buy from them. Mr Lumpkin ran there shop. We were sad to hear that the husbands assignment was over on earth but happy to hear his wife is still here. Before COVID we all could go in the Round Rock location. But if it's donuts you want just go through Drive through and ask for a dozen assorted...still reasonable at 11.98 per dozen and made fresh every day. What a great gift and you pull up and fast service. The two boxes brought to Encompass nurses, Drs., therapists, were gone in a flash. So go get yourself some and enjoy a touch of Round Rock that we enjoyed over 20 years ago. Things have changed in Round Rock but one thing hasn't the fresh, hot, yummy donuts. The box looks nice too. Not made with bioengineered or genetically modified...

I've been hearing so many great things about around Rock Doughnuts and I finally got a chance to visit their Whitestone Blvd. shop yesterday. This location serves more as a grab-n-go, drive-thru type of place and I love the fact that it is much less touristy and no need to wait in lines. We ordered half dozen of the holes and two regular hot dogs with cheese. The hot dog bread was not particularly impressive but the doughnut holes are sooo good that I regretted not getting a dozen or more right after we left. I also saw their famous giant doughnuts on display. I'm not so much of a sweet tooth but would love to get one and share with friends or family some day. This store is well managed and very clean. I love the beautiful grass around the shop and the floor to ceiling display windows. The service is also . The guy opened the window and greeted us as we approached the "place order here" window, and he was very helpful in terms of explaining the menu and offering advice. Will come back again for more mini holes

The 8.8 mile drive was worth it! Went to this location after hearing a coworker mention they make tea cakes. The CTA QR code sign that greets you to download the menu was helpful to know what to order in an effort to keep the line moving. We pulled up to the window, and Madison was happy and kind, it was genuine. She swooned over my little Morkie and was chatting with us. I didn’t get the co worker name that was preparing the orders, but she called out our order to confirm we got the right one. It was great to see customers (families) hang out and enjoy some of the toys on display. This was my first visit and we got a few extra donut holes which was shared with my neighbor who is from the Midwest. She’s planning a trip to this location. Since I’m new to the area, I did noticed that I missed a previous exit that takes you to the driv thru. Def a vibe place! 🍩
