First time here. Not bad. Nice, calm and friendly. The food was kinda alright for breakfast. My hashbrowns were cold and dry like they had been sitting there for some time. They gave me water with brownish looking lemon wedges. The waitress was very attentive when I pointed out the ugly looking lemons in my water. Other than that, I think 16th Avenue Grill is.....Ok. Just make sure u guys are serving your food HOT or at least warm. I'll be back for a second try. Please impress me.

Food was good. Service was great. It's differently a ma and pa dinner. I had the Mac and cheese Buger last time good burger for the price ($14.85 wich included the buger and fries and a drink with it). Also had the biscuits and gravy wich is good and exactly what it is on e the mean. Also good. Well eat her aging.

I truthfully don't normally leave rates and reviews, but this place deserves it. The idea of that home-y dine in was there but the entire place needs what my generation would call "an update." The service (and the rest of the people in the restaurant) was amazing, the waitress that we had was not at all invasive of our morning meal. But the food stapled this place in the forehead with "no return."

We sat down and I got a coffee, my wife ordered her typical soda. The coffee came immediately, and it was sub-par. Our waitress informed me that it was a fresh brew, which disappointed me for it being so weak, and I don't mean a mild brew, I mean the measurement that they are required to put in the brewer makes it taste watered down.

I ordered a breakfast burrito, and when it came it LOOKED like a let down for almost a $10 meal. The burrito itself only had bacon in one side of it's roll, the egg had no flavor, and the cheese served as a flavor buffer, as in the rest of it lacked flavor. The hash browns had no flavor, and were cold in some spots, and needed a decent amount of salt and pepper for seasoning. I'm no food expert but I don't think you should HAVE to shower something in salt for it to have any flavor.

My wife's $12 meal was also presented terribly. The lighting in the restaurant served it no justice, giving it a dullness that couldn't go unmentioned. The country fried steak was covered in gravy and you couldn't taste anything of the steak. The potatoes were extremely bland, even when seasoned with salt and pepper and dipped in ketchup, the dullness persisted. The pancakes were good, had a homecook taste but a weird after taste. And the eggs were inedible, even with salt and pepper.

My daughter's $5 meal had microwaved bacon, and soggy toast.

I was honestly shocked to see that this place had anymore than a 3 star rating. Everyone seems to have a great experience here and I can agree with the service but today they missed the mark when it came to good food. And I was honestly disappointed because you could feel the heartiness of the place as soon as you walked in.

DON'T EAT HERE!

My husband and I came here after church to have a meal. The building was damp and moldy smelling inside. The seating booths had no padded seats. Very hard wood where as you could tell they had removed the older padded cushions. (Obviously it was cheaper to remove them than to replace the old worn out seat cushions). The booth table was halfway disconnected from the wall it was fastened to. We were worried a bit thinking it might just break away from the wall if we leaned on the table too much. It did not thank goodness! When our order came, my meatloaf on their lite menu tasted indescribable. It definitely was not ground beef, it had a weird soury liver taste. I took one bite and spit it out. The house salad was small sprigs of the white and yellow iceberg lettuce that I usually throw out when making a salad, with 2 small slivers of white onions and tiny tiny croutons. The mashed potatoes tasted liked boxed instant mashed. Bread was sopposed to come with that. It never came. When the manager came by and asked very happily how is everything? My husband complained this is the worst meal we ever had in all of Cedar Rapids! The managers response was I'm surprised everyone else loves the meatloaf. Honestly he could have cared less. If you decide to eat here do it at your own risk. We...

We drove 3 hours yesterday because I had an appointment in Cedar rapids, afterwards we stopped for breakfast, big mistake wish we would not have stopped. Hash browns were cold only fried on one side barely any color to it at all. My little half-and-half creamers curdled as soon as they hit the coffee. My old man asked to add cheese to his Skillet, the cook forgot so they took the skillet back and came back with this yellow colored fake-looking nasty cheese. The bacon on my Skillet was so dark calling it dark brown doesn't even come close it was black. The cook obviously has no idea how to serve food hot and fresh. Because it's clear the cook doesn't care. It's a Shame. The waitress was pleasant. I had stomach cramps 1/2 way home. The chicken loved the food....we didn't eat, but we paid...
