ALDI — Local services in Cedar Rapids

The prices are competitive with other stores but you can find some very good bargains with their 'on sale' items. Their selections of products are somewhat limited due to the store size. All things to be considered a good store to shop. After not shopping in Aldi's for a few months, I got the ingredients that I needed to make a dish I was planning on fixing for supper and started to make my way to the cashier. The store was very busy when I went so my experience might not be typical. The prices on produce were unbeatable and the quality of the food looked really good. Check out was really quick despite three number of people but the cashier looked like he had been pushed to the point where he was just completly done trying to interact. Unless he absolutly had to respond he didn't say a word. He was the fastest cashier I've ever had though. Main reason the store is given a 4 is because the isles are not organised in a very clear way so kitchen goods were far from baking goods and difficult to find. Also some pretty basic products like parchment paper were absent altogether which hasn't been my experience at other...

The remodeled building allows for better movement and less traffic jams in the aisles. I do however miss the days before Aldi's became cool or known to everyone as Trader Joe's little brother. Now it's almost always busy. Wednesday afternoons seem to be the quietest I've found. Good food, always interesting, "while supplies last" short term fines, lowest prices in town for boneless chicken, and most of the items they sell. Low overhead and limited options help to keep their prices down. I can get almost everything I need there minus about 4 or 5 staples our family must have.
