Starbucks — Restaurant in Cedar Rapids

I attend this particular Starbucks regularly and most likely will not be back at this location. If I had been a health inspector this place would have gotten a ding. I came here to do some work and have a drink. As I was waiting for my drink I observed a counter that was extremely wet like ice was sitting there for a long time and melted on the counter. The counter was covered in water and debris from previous drinks. It did not look sanitary at all. I observed the barista place made drinks on top of this counter. I mentioned something to him and he looked at me and smiled. I mentioned something to the barista pouring my drink what I observed. She cleaned it up but did not seem too concerned. She did not wash her hands after cleaning the dirty counter prior to pouring the rest of my drink. I was shocked that no one cleaned this counter in addition to placing drinks on top of it that they then served to customers. I left because of this experience when I intended to stay...

My husband and I stopped here quickly to grab a coffee as we continued our 6 hour drive across Iowa. He got a medium roast coffee which had just been freshly brewed and was a great temperature and had great flavor. They did not have any dark roast brewed but we're happy to make a pour over for my order. Once my pour over was ready we grabbed it and hit the road. I did not take a sip until five minutes down the road as I am always very satisfied with my Starbucks dark roast and it is usually piping hot. Much to my disappointment my first sip was hardly luke warm. Especially disappointed that we went out of our way on our long drive to get Starbucks and that after paying almost $3.00 for a brewed coffee neither myself or my husband can even choke down the cold coffee. The staff was friendly, however, that will be the first and last visit to this Starbucks. -Disappointed...

Each time I've come to this location, which has been four separate times at different hours of the day, I've had an okay experience with staff. However, this review isn't based on my staff interactions, you're in a drive thru so there's very little. The quality of my drinks every single time has been terrible in comparison to other Starbucks locations. I thought requesting and paying for extra additions would fix the issues, but this last drink legitimately just tasted as if there was a majority of water, a little milk and burnt coffee. I've never left a review before but I'm hoping this will encourage better quality checks on the drinks they're putting out for customers. This is my first really negative experience at a Starbucks, and I will not be coming back due to the repeated poor quality of the drinks themselves. Hoping this helps others...
