I was extremely disappointed today with the Chicken Parmigiana which I ordered. Two issues I had 1) the quality of the dish 2) the deceptive pricing practices. When my food arrived, I had to search for the “chicken” in the “Chicken Parmigiana” cleverly buried under loads of spaghetti and red sauce. I was very patient until 3 -4 cubes of mystery meat popped up. I mustered up the courage to go up to the lady at the counter to check perhaps I may have ordered a spaghetti with red sauce instead? And she validated that I indeed ordered the chicken parmigiana! Then I took my plate up to the counter and showed here the 3 cubes of mystery meat and she appeared to holler into the kitchen if they forgot the chicken and I heard them say it was chopped up chicken tenders. And immediately she started to deny that there was anything wrong. When she could clearly see what I was showing her. I understand that Mistakes happen- I would have been Ok if the mistake was admitted and an attempt to fix it was made! 2) when I got my bill the price for the spaghetti with 3 cubes of mystery meat and red sauce was $13.50. In the dinner menu when I placed the order it was listed as $12.50. Once again when asked, I was rudely redirected to the disclaimer that all prices subject to change at their discretion and They are waiting for new menus to arrive. Additionally I was asked to visit their website for the correct prices. So when I took to the website, the price for same dish is listed at $11.50! In summary nothing was done to make things right with a displeased customer. Engaging in price gouging & Deceptive pricing practices in the State of Wisconsin is considered a crime. As a long term resident of Cedarburg and having been a frequent patron of this establishment till now, it’s rather disheartening to know that a small family owned business such as this one is going down hill quickly. I will not be coming back here and neither would I recommend anyone here. -...
Read moreI have had ALOT of pizza from all over the country. Disclaimer: I am not a food critic by any means...actually I have lived my life on the other side, culinary school, and starting a successful restaurant in the heart of downtown Cedarburg . This review is for Tomaso's in Cedarburg and is about the food and atmosphere of this historic location. Most of the fryer food is Sysco stuff you get at any restaurant in the area BUT... what the other restaurants in the US do not offer is the best pizza I personally have ever tasted. The dough is a simple cracker crust and for a good reason it is just a carrier for the million dollar recipe of the pizza sauce (kept in a bomb proof box:) Cheese underneath the sauce and depending on your topping cheese on top of the toppings. the topping are all fresh topping which really makes a big difference. The atmosphere of Tomaso's can get crowded with people on a Friday or Saturday night but the ambient red dark interior has a brilliant ageless feel like you are a part of something. Ray Thomas may be one of the hardest working individuals I have had the honor of meeting and when he passed down his legacy to his son Scott and Nicole it was no mistake they are great business leaders and have hearts of gold. This is why I go to Tomaso's, this is why i crave it on a...
Read moreNever been to this restaurant before. Expected to have a great experience but was not expecting to be seated in a tight corner. If you are looking for a waiter/waitress to serve you here then look elsewhere as you have to order at the bar. When the food appears at the bar you have to go and get it yourself. Salad was a little yellowish for me but the ranch was the best part of it. I ordered the Lasagna and when it arrived with a roll for the bread instead of garlic bread I was dissatisfied. The lasagna was in a bowl that was hot and thankfully I was told it was while it was also placed on a plate for me to carry across the room to my table. Did not taste the garlic that I would like to see in this dish. A bit sweet the sauce was. Looked like lasagna but did not taste like one. Watched the waiter clean a few tables and noticed he put the silver pizza racks that sit on the tables get put on the floor then back on a clean table. There were leftover pizza sauce left on them and were not wiped down. Very tight fitting place here. Just think it would be better with a few less tables and waiting staff plus better tasting food considering it’s Italian food you would think they would be garlic basil oregano things like that in your food, but I did not taste that overall not a great...
