Unfortunately I was not a fan of Java House. From the moment I walked in the door, it didn't smell good. It was a small, cramped area for me and there was a lady standing in my way with a dachshund dog (highly doubt it was a legit service animal). I navigated to the line and saw another dog at a table near me that was jumping up and putting its paws on the table. I am a dog lover, but not exactly appropriate to be bringing in a happy go lucky dog into a business that clearly is not a service animal. I ended up taking my coffee to go and the small paper cup/lid leaked on my hand as I walked around the town which was frustrating because I didn't have a napkin or anything. I read some good reviews but unfortunately my experience for a Saturday morning was not what I had hoped. If I had to choose between the coffee shops in the downtown of Cedarburg, I would opt for either Fiddleheads or Coffee Roasters, and do not forsee myself returning to Java House. The young lady that did take my order was kind, so I do...
Read moreI’ve really been putting off writing a review, hoping that things would get better. I’ve been coming the Java house regularly for two years because I want to support local business, the people are always friendly and I like the atmosphere, however, the constant inconsistency of the taste of my drink is very frustrating. I usually order a brown sugar milk tea with Boba. The Boba is often very hard and stuck together. I found the way they make the milk tea to be weak for my taste so I ask for extra pumps of flavor which I’m happy to pay for. I just ordered my drink, asked for extra flavor ( 2 extra pumps)and said I like it sweet. I stepped out of the establishment took a sip and it’s as if there is no extra flavor there. I’m at a loss. I want to support them, but I can’t keep paying seven dollars for a drink that tastes dramatically different depending on...
Read moreGreat location in Cedarburg, great old building with classic coffee shop vibes. Not so good service, food, or coffee. Feel bad saying this cause the ladies who were there were working hard, but waaaayyyyyyy understaffed. It took literally 25 mins for a coffee, breakfast sandwich and muffin. The lady at the counter was stressed. The cold brew tasted a few days old, the breakfast sandwich was not even as good as a gas station breakfast sandwich. Served on a stale old mediocre bagle. And the lemon poppy muffin was just ok at best. Spent 21 dollars with tip for something that left alot to be desired. Hope it gets better because the place has been around a long time, and it's got plenty of potential to be a great coffee shop. I'd give 2.5 stars if I could be...
