What a big misunderstanding! Ironically, the unhappy Customer B is the one that has been advertising this place and I ended up here to try Jamaican food for my friends birthday. She had never seen the place physically but felt compelled to go support a local business. Tamara, the lady owner was very polite on the phone and agreed to accommodate us even though we don’t do hot spice. One week before , I had ordered delivery of Jerk chicken wings and didn’t taste the coconut in the rice but decided to give them a 2nd chance because of customer B recommendation. First, I commend Tamara for placing the hot sauce on the side and for introducing the Jamaican taste to our community. I went ahead and placed the order online just to have it on record and to be able to add gratuity for the service. We had no idea that this place is not equipped to handle a group of 10 people. It was originally for 8 people but one guest brought her two kids. I had called in to reconfirm our dinner but talked to the husband who rudely said “We don’t do reservations here” “You can come in but no guarantees that you will be served”. I told him that we already talked to Tamara and we are coming. Upon arrival, we talked to a very polite young man who told us to make ourselves comfortable outside and that he will bring out water for us. We had brought our plates from home and Birthday cake thinking that if the rude husband sends us away, we could go to the park and enjoy our meal there. There were two people melting in the sun with their dog in the waiting area outside . They had been waiting for an hour for their food and so they decided to take their dog to the car and continue to wait inside. Therefore, we rearranged the tables with a few chairs and moved on the side away from direct sunshine. Our food came out after 20 minutes and we ordered drinks. Customer B came later during the dinner and was surprised to see us outside. We told her that there is no space and so we created space for ourselves outside. The waiters brought the food out for us. She was appalled but went inside to order her food. She had no idea that it would be such a big problem to ask for an extra chair. The rude husband canceled her order and pretended as if she had asked for a refund. She told Tamara that she never intended to cancel and that she would like to be served but her request was not honored. We are professional people and are used to be treated that way. This was very unprofessional on the owners part. It could have ended really bad if we insisted to be served by involving the Centennial police but we chose to keep quiet and seek dinner somewhere else. This is a Public place which is Licensed to serve the public. Keep that in mind. Summary The Snapper was seasoned well but very dry. The hot sauce on the side was perfect. This place is not set up to serve a big group We never brought ornaments, chairs and tables from our homes, except a few plates, plastic table cover, and a cake, We would like an opportunity to tip our 3 waiters . We never got a receipt to add tips and gratuity The water glasses were great The steam cabbage was very good The OX tails need improvement Customer B deserves an apology because she has good intentions for your business. ** You get 4 stars for the 3 polite waiters and Tamara the owner for being flexible. The husband is a liability in that...
Read moreBack at Reggae Pot again but OH MY GOD! This place never disappoints. Jamaica away from Jamaica! From the moment you step inside, you're transported to the vibrant and lively atmosphere of the Caribbean island. The colorful decor, pulsating reggae beats, and friendly staff make you feel right at home. But let's talk about the walls. Have you ever seen such a captivating display of Jamaican culture and music history? As you dine, take a moment to appreciate the carefully curated artwork, photographs, and memorabilia adorning the walls. It's like a mini-museum celebrating the rich heritage of Jamaica. Each piece tells a story, and it adds an extra layer of authenticity to the dining experience. Now, let's move on to the food. If you're craving authentic Jamaican flavors, Reggae Pot is an absolute must-visit. The menu boasts a wide variety of mouthwatering dishes that capture the essence of Jamaican cuisine. From jerk chicken to oxtail stew, each plate is packed with bold and aromatic spices that transport your taste buds straight to the island. One of my personal favorites is the traditional ackee and saltfish, a classic Jamaican breakfast dish. The combination of tender salted codfish, sautéed ackee (a unique fruit), and a medley of spices creates a harmonious blend of flavors that is simply irresistible. Pair it with a side of festival (sweet fried dumplings) or Johnny Cake, and you have a delightful and satisfying meal. The portions at Reggae Pot are generous, ensuring that you leave with a happy and full belly. The quality of the ingredients and the skillful preparation are evident in every bite. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable, always ready to recommend dishes or answer any questions you may have. Don't forget to indulge in some refreshing Jamaican beverages. The assortment of tropical fruit juices, such as the Raggae Rum Punch, is a treat for your taste buds. And of course, you can't go wrong with a tall glass of ice-cold Tropical Rhythm flavors to complete the experience. Whether you're a Jamaican cuisine aficionado or simply looking to explore new flavors, Reggae Pot Jamaican Grill is a culinary gem. The ambiance, the history on the walls, and the incredible flavors all come together to create an unforgettable dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone craving a taste of Jamaica and a genuine immersion into its...
Read more1 Star is all they deserve today, take note. My experience today was far from pleasant. This was my first time going to Reggae Pot today and I placed an online to-go order for the Oxtail Plate with the Mac and cheese, Rice & Peas, one beef Patty and one Jerk Chicken Patty. After completing my order online it stated that it would take 30 minutes. Giving the restaurant grace on the order and it being a Saturday I arrived within about 37 minutes. When I arrived I was told that it would take 10 more minutes, that was fine for me, at that time I was excited to try the food. There were two online orders already in from of me waiting for there food. By the time I received my food after waiting an additional 10 minutes I was told that they were out of Beef Patties and Jerk Chicken Patties. To me in the restaurant business you always have have the opportunity to reach out to the customer to let them know if something is wrong and they chose not too. Instead I drove across town for half of the food I requested. It’s one thing if I walked in off of the street but it’s like, come on…wasted my time. Did even apologize for the inconvenience or offer me something else. Just expected me to wait another 20 minutes…. At this time I am waiting for a refund and tbh I’m going to also ask for my Pattie refund and a refund on that ridiculous $2.50 processing fee when they can even produce your order on time. Hopefully I receive it, if I don’t I will update my review and let you know. All and all I was able to walk out with at least the Ox Tails, just okay not much meat for the 5 you receive for $24. The mac and cheese was dry and unflavored paired with that extremely dry rice and peas. I won’t be coming back, I can make better food at home. There aren’t many black owned businesses out here in CO and this was disappointing. For the people that don’t mind waiting half a day for there food, do them the decency to update your online orders so people can actually pick up and go with what they actually ordered. Stop the bull and take off that processing fee when you’re already changing over $20 a plate. There’s a reason why they aren’t on DoorDash or...
