I don’t usually leave reviews unless something is really exceptional or really disappointing. I think this is how most people operate. So I don’t think a 1-star review is fair here - as my family has eaten at this Wendy’s many times over the 10 years we have live in Crown Point, and there’s a reason we kept going back. But lately, the quality and service have slipped so much that it’s hard to ignore.
We’ve always preferred Wendy’s over other fast food, especially on busy nights after kids’ games. We like that there are options beyond just burgers and fries—my personal go-to has always been the chili. That’s why it’s been frustrating to see those options either unavailable or the service break down.
Last weekend, I sat in the drive-thru for over 10 minutes after being told “please hold one minute.” Cars were stacking up behind me, and with only a small window between commitments, I had to leave. I chalked it up to an off day and figured I'd give them another chance.
Last night, after my son’s baseball game, I ordered for my family first—burgers, fries, Frostys—just to get their order out of the way since it’s usually the easier part. But when it came time for my wife and I to order grilled chicken wraps, I was told they were already out of grilled chicken and baked potatoes at 7:00 pm. Those healthier alternatives are a big reason adults like us choose Wendy’s in the first place. I canceled my order all together and when I calmly gave feedback, another voice (not the cashier’s) cut me off with “Have a good day sir!” in a stern tone - followed by background chatter. That instantly turned constructive feedback into dismissal.
I went inside to speak with a manager—not because I was angry, but because I genuinely don’t want to see this location fail. The shift supervisor, a younger guy, seemed unprepared. When I asked for the GM’s number, I was told “there isn’t one.” I’ll admit I made a sarcastic comment, because of course there’s a GM number—it’s 2025. He eventually showed me the number on his personal phone (actually held up his phone) and I asked if he would write it down for me. While I was there, another customer overheard and said, “Maybe I should complain too, this has taken over 20 minutes.” In quick service restaurants, that’s not just inconvenient - it’s a KPI every brand tracks, and this store was failing it badly.
For context, I worked in corporate for a larger quick service restaurant years ago. I’m no expert, but I do know the standards around service, preparedness, and speed. This location is missing the mark on all three.
The truth is, customers usually just want to feel heard. With better training, this could have been handled and de-escalated easily. Instead, the service feels broken. There’s a reason people flock to Chick-fil-A and the cars are always wrapped around the building —the consistency, preparedness, and customer care are top notch.
I’m rooting for this Wendy’s to improve because it’s been a staple in Crown Point for years. But right now, it’s not the reliable option it once was, and...
Read moreGreetings from the toilet! Don't typically have issues with this place, but I guess I only come a few times a year. Last night's service was laughable, and I find it hard to believe that in 2025, you can't credit my card back over the phone for items missing from my order. I went to wendys at midnight and SOBER! Probably my first mistake. I ordered 2 classic single value meals, and 10 nuggies. When I got home, I only had 1 of the sandwiches. I knew I should have checked. It's midnight and I really didn't want to drive back so I called and asked if there was any way to just refund my card the amount of the missing sandwich, and was told it was not possible. The associate that answered the phone was very short with me, and offered to replace the sandwich in the next 30 minutes, as it was closing time, or take my name down for another time. I opted to drive back, to which she replied "ok" and hung up with no apology, never asking my name or what my order even was. I thought that was rude, considering they were the ones at fault here, but I decided it is the end of the night, I'll give some grace here. I drive back to the store and upon looking at the receipt I notice I was also over charged for 2 double cheeseburger meals instead of the singles I ordered. When the young lady came to the window with my sandwich - after being told to come to the second window and waiting 10 minutes with nobody coming to greet me, she tried to throw the bag at me and shut the window, but I let her know it wasn't what I ordered. She replies, "so you want a refund?" And I said well yeah, I was over charged, you underproduced, and now I had to drive back here. She snatched the bag back, and vanished with a "well give me back that sandwich!". Several minutes later another young lady came to the window with a full refund - $29 and some change - to which I explained that I just wanted my sandwich I ordered and to not be overcharged for something I didn't order. This associate was sweet, and took the time to understand what had happened. Another associate brought me correct change and both sandwiches. At this point I kind of wished I had taken the full refund, as I have now wasted 15-20 minutes at this drive through. A third associate brought me my food. At the end of the day, the sandwich was great and they always will be, but that first person I dealt with that never showed her face again is not fit for customer service and I felt it a disservice to the best damn late night food joint in town not to report this. If anyone actually reads these or audits their franchises for customer service, there's a very rude pink haired girl with a extra large mole pissing off your customers and trying to give full refunds without question - yikes. That can't be good for the books, aye? Ive come to find shes a manager of sorts?! 🤦Alright well thanks for reading, and may the fourth...
Read moredo not here at all. aside from a lady posting that this place cooked a FLY in someones burger (this place needs to get investigated and temporarily shut down) my experience here with the easiest of orders still got completely messed up and the service was so poor! i wanted to order the spicy nuggets but as a meal, when I asked if they had that the girl said yes but then proceeded to not ask me at all what size for the drink what size for the fries or how many nuggets i wanted. then she thought i was also asking for a salad which I dont know where she got that from. I arrive to the window and i say what even is my order? because it wasnt repeated back to me and the total came out to like $11! and you can get an entire meal for half that price. she then said 10 nuggets and i was like i only wanted 4… then she changed that and just said medium drink and medium fry then? i said yes but honestly as mentioned i was never asked for that either before i got to the window. i then recieve my order and i dont even get 4 nuggets i get 3!! dont waste your time here you will regret it and the employeees are by far the most incompetent i ever experienced however im too nice for...
