We had just finished up at the mall and was craving for a sweet treat, on our quest to try out new spots until we find our 1- Bako Tea House was our stop. As anticipated with any stopover around this mall, traffic, crowds and parking are all anticipated and bothersome, especially on the weekend. Our cheat code is to order online and just do a roll by pick up. Drinks were ready in less than 10 minutes, no line out the door, and the barista was friendly. Doing a quick pop-in, the interior is sleek. With samples of tea out of display, Bako looks very minimalist and tea focused. Which they do well. Lemon Wintermelon - ($5.50) - My drink! I opted for 50% sweet with less ice, and at first sip- still too sweet. Maybe I will need to either add in ice or ask if they’ll do any less sweet, but on the online ordering this was the lowest choice. Tea was overall good, but my asian tastebuds needed a bit of water mixed in to really enjoy. Lychee Greentea - ($6.55) - Lychee Jelly added for .75 - Hubby is usually the type for sweets, but even for this drink at his choice of 75% - was still too sweet. A bit of a trend maybe? Not sure if it was just our drink choices or not, but I'm undecided. Decor and tea were average and i’d be open to try their other teas to see if over sweetness is just...
Read moreBako Tea House is my new favorite boba spot! Their drinks are super unique, and you can tell they use high-quality ingredients. All the teas are freshly brewed, and the flavors really stand out.
I have pretty high standards when it comes to drinks — I’m the kind of person who’ll drive from the South Bay all the way to the San Gabriel Valley just for a good milk tea or boba. But now, with Bako around, I don’t have to!
They offer a great variety of teas, and if you're a tea lover, I highly recommend trying their Loose Leaf Teas. I visited during their soft opening when they had 50% off all drinks and got to try several — my favorite by far is the Phoenix Oolong Tea Latte with purple rice and no added sugar. It’s smooth, flavorful, and not overly sweet — exactly how I like it.
Quick tips: You can place your order online ahead of time for easy pickup. Bako is located next to Royal Business Bank, and there’s plenty of parking available in...
Read moreJust visited the new Bako Tea House in Cerritos and was genuinely impressed. The aesthetic is super minimal — think clean cement walls, modern design, and a stripped-down vibe. Seating is limited (just a couple of small tables, chairs, and a bench), and there’s no outdoor option, but the ambiance works if you’re into that sleek, quiet feel.
Now, the tea — surprisingly amazing. I tried the Phoenix Oolong Milk Tea with Straus organic milk, 25% sweet, and added purple rice as a topping. So good. Balanced, not overly sweet, and the quality of the ingredients really stands out. They also offer Minor Figures Oatmilk if you’re going dairy-free, which is a thoughtful touch.
They’re in their soft opening phase right now, so you get 30% off all drinks, which makes it the perfect time to try it out. No seasonal menu yet, but sounds like that’s coming soon.
Definitely worth a visit if you’re into high-quality milk teas and a calm,...
