KFC (Korean fried chicken) is the best friend chicken, IMHO.

BBQ Chicken opened several months ago, and I've had the 10% coupon in my possession for awhile now. During the midst of the lockdown going on, I stopped by for BBQ Chicken's $9.99 boneless lunch special (M-F 11:30am - 2:30pm). Coming with french fries, pickled daikon & canned soda, the boneless options are - Golden original Secret spicy Hot spicy Honey garlic Soy garlic Cheesling Gang-jeong
Secret spicy boneless wings- When a menu item's secret, I gotta go for or it. The heat level was good. I could've gone higher. The fried chicken was cooked flawlessly. Moist & tender, with a crunchy exterior. There's just something about Korean fried chicken. An ample amount of fries to carbo load on, the pickled daikon helped cut into all the grease from the fries & chicken. I'm a tried & true bone-in kind of guy, but I do boneless for BBQ Chicken's lunch combo (unless they start having bone-in as an option hint, hint).
Service was good. The young man working the counter was friendly. My food took a little while to come out, even though I was the first & only customer of the day, thus far. That's a good thing, as I'm assured my food is freshly cooked. BBQ Chicken is located inside Landmark Square, directly in front of Umaya Ramen.
BBQ Chicken, you tickle my fried chicken fancy! I don't need to be convinced Korean fried chicken is the tastiest & most bestest (I know, not a word), because I've been a believer for years. BBQ Chicken does it right, and I don't need to watch "Crash Landing on You" to understand that. Chicken's on point, the place is within walking distance & the lunch combo is perfect for a quick meal...
Read moreI have eaten at BB.Q chicken at least a couple dozen times, many of them at this Cerritos location, and every time I'm reminded that God is real. It genuinely shocks me each and every time, how good the chicken is. It's one of the few chicken places that actually respects boneless too. Most chicken places when you ask for boneless, give you chicken nuggets with sauce cough Bonchon. BB.Q the boneless are legitimate, large pieces of dark meat chicken. And honestly the best part, it really doesn't feel like "gross overindulgent comfort food". The chicken feels like proper clean pieces of perfectly fried and seasoned chicken. Maybe that's cause of the oil they use or what, but it strikes a perfect balance.
It would be one thing if it was just the chicken that was perfection, there has to be ONE place with the best fried chicken. But the fries are basically perfect fries as well too. It confounds the mind. If I lived anywhere near one of these, I'd gain 15 lbs within a year. The service at this one specifically is also top notch. Even though I got take out, it still feels like I was being served while waiting for the food to cook.
I can't even speak on the other food since I haven't wanted to veer away from the chicken whenever I come here, but I have heard from friends it's also great.
Even with all the good food in the area, I still always find myself coming back to this place whenever I'm here, which is...
Read moreFood is awesome, unfortunately we had a bad experience with an employee named Mark. When we went to order 2 flavors of boneless chicken, he let us know we could not split flavors, which was weird because we have done it in the recent past, BUT we didn't make a big deal of it. We did 1 separate orders and that was it, while choosing a drink, I asked "do you have fountain drinks or are this fridge drinks what we choose from" again, not with any attitude or anything.. we get it, he's an employee, he doesn't make the rules.. but he decided to say under his breath "if you came here and ordered before you would know that".. unfortunately for him I heard him. I let him know we've never dined in, as we usually order for our office meetings and just pick up, so how would I know about what drinks they have. I've NEVER had a bad experience here, they are always nice and helpful. But Mark is RUDE and we will be taking our business and office orders elsewhere...
