I was such a big fan of The Frantone's in Downey since forever, but being that it's closed now that location you have no choice but to come here... Well I been to your location in Cerritos twice in person in different times of my life and the Food it's seasoning the problem to me, your Food tastes very plain to my taste... Yesterday my Brother brought Food over for dinner, your staff forgot packing the salads for the pick up order, that's one... The meat raviolis the sauce was too watered down, and it needed seasoning as well... Today I was having the spaghetti with meatballs, the meatballs had no seasoning added to it, I took a look at the meatballs they had no season to it, just plain big meatballs with no flavor as I was taking a bite... On top of that the spaghetti was dry, didn't have enough sauce so it wasn't saucy enough the spaghetti... The alfredo spaghetti because it wasn't even linguine, I didn't even wanted to try it, it looked too dry on the sauce as well... The cheese sticks we're ok and garlic bread yes, but why would you pack spaghetti watered down sauce for the cheese sticks??? Like who would do that... Just not nice, and yes I'm being a Food Critic because I expected more from this Restaurant being that it's the only one left and I don't know what the Owners are doing??But they need to teach their Staff more about the Downey location, that they were actually way better... And they would make their Food with Love, season right and wouldn't water down their sauce, everything was always on point... And you see I could talk for example, because I used to be one of their Assistant Manager for a Restaurant called Bigs Pizza & More, in my 20s in Downey. I'm sure you have heard of that place before, and well the Owner wouldn't let us take Food out if the Pizza didn't have enough quantity of sauce thick enough, see here the sauce is what makes the Restaurant and the Food taste better... Don't be like Pizza Hut- they watered down all their sauce, and it's terrible and it tastes terrible... Frantone's you have to read some of these comments on here, and give your Customer better Food Service, improve your quality of Food, because you're looking bad out here, and I really Love this Food chain... But 3 times can't be bad, well yes because it has happened to me and my Family, and Friend on the Cerritos location... My Father and me have always bought Food from you guys from the Downey location and we never had no complaints, not once... I would make it a tradition to treat the family on my Birthdays to "Frantone's Downey location". We never were wrong at dinner time "Frantone's Downey location" always gaved me that Authentic Italian Homemade Food Vibe, it was yummy made with Love... I'm a big Italian Foodie... This Cerritos location needs a lot of improvement in everything, hoping the Chef or Chef's helpers get it together on their season and the sauce situation as well, packing your orders right before it leaving the store and with the condiments...Management that's all your butt there in making these improvements, because it falls out on You and the Owners, it's costing money to them... Would love to see this location get better and on your reviews to be good, but mostly on the Food Quality. Sorry but was very disappointed on the dinner yesterday, and today we had some leftover spaghetti with meatballs and I'm trying it now, and it just...
Read moreBeyond Unacceptable – Worst Dining Experience of My Life If I could give negative stars, I would. This was, without question, the worst restaurant experience I have ever endured. The level of incompetence, neglect, and sheer disregard for customers at this establishment is absolutely astonishing. From the moment we were seated, it was clear that service was not a priority. While other tables were promptly greeted and served, we were completely ignored. Our server—an unprofessional male with glasses who never bothered to introduce himself—showed zero interest in doing his job. After an absurdly long wait, he finally brought some of the drinks we ordered, sarcastically joking that the rest were coming "slowly but surely." That level of dismissiveness from a server is beyond unprofessional—it's downright insulting. Then came the real nightmare. Forty-five minutes passed before we saw even a simple appetizer salad. Meanwhile, we had to sit and watch our server cater to other tables with ease, proving that our neglect was not due to restaurant busyness, but a clear lack of care and effort. When our food finally arrived, it was a complete disaster. The kids’ pasta dishes were entirely wrong, forcing us to send them back for another 20-minute wait. The Alfredo sauce tasted sour and spoiled, making the already terrible experience worse. And the pizza? A complete joke. Toppings were literally thrown on after baking, as if the kitchen staff couldn’t be bothered to do their job properly. It was one of the laziest, most unappetizing meals I have ever seen in a restaurant. To make matters worse, our server vanished for the rest of the meal, appearing only once when we desperately tried to get drink refills. At this point, we asked to speak with a manager, only to be told we could call another day because they were "too busy." That response alone should tell you everything you need to know about this place. Not only do they serve inedible food with horrendous service, but they also refuse to take any responsibility for it. This restaurant is an absolute embarrassment to the industry. Do not waste your time, money, or dignity here. There are far better places in the area that actually care about their customers. This one should be avoided...
Read more24 Hour Fitness 50% off any pizza FitPerks points redemption
Frantone's has been a stalwart in Cerritos, conducting fundraisers for the local schools, including my old high school.
Frantone's Special- Loaded with various ingredients, including anchovies, the Frantone's Special was a decent pizza. The crust/dough didn't have the chew of a fire cooked pizza, but was filling. Frantone's didn't skimp on the toppings, and an ample meal was had.
Service was good. I printed out the FitPerks promo, but was told I couldn't redeem it because the paper didn't mention Frantone's or the 50% off any pizza. So, I had to redeem the points again and show the redemption code via my phone. Ample seating inside. Tables have red & white checkered tablecloth, and there is also a private banquet room for large gatherings. Keeping with the old school vibe, there are 3 table multi-game arcade machines located in the waiting area. Frantone's is located on the west end of the Home Depot center, between Staples & LA Fitness.
The Frantone's Special pizza tasted great. However, for regular price, too costly, in my opinion. I'm not big on Italian food, so I doubt being a regular customer is in the cards. Frantone's does have various specials, including Spaghetti Wednesday Family Spaghetti Night (half order of spaghetti w/ meatballs or meat sauce, salad, garlic bread & coffee or soda), which looks to be a good deal, for those so inclined. I am glad I can finally check out Frantone's off...
