Food might be great...but we can't tell you, that's the problem! Walked here on a Friday night, arriving at 6pm. Styrofoam plate on the door said "take-out pizza only tonight" but there were five big trucks out in the parking lot and we had walked, so we poked our heads in. Saw a big party eating at the tables but were greeted by a woman who re-affirmed that they were only offering take-away pizza. We asked about eating a take-away pizza on the patio outside, but she explained that they were short a worker and were about to close. At the latter we were confused, as the posted hours ran until 7pm, so we asked about that. She fumbled out some other words that didn't ring true, and we just got the sense she didn't want us there; perhaps the group eating in was a family gathering or something. We know that hours in a small town are pretty malleable, and it's wise to call and check first: in retrospect, we should have done that before walking over. If the plate on the door had said "private event tonight, take-out pizza only" we'd have been disappointed but OK with that, it happens sometimes. It was that we felt like we were lied to about why that really bugged us. I usually only write glowing reviews; I generally chalk up a bad experience to a place just having an off night. But this one stuck in my craw over our whole time in Chama, and looking over the reviews it looks like others have similarly found their hours to be unreliable...so definitely call before making...

So in the picture I have four o eight tenders on the slice of regular bread served with the tender basket with the other four tenders touching the bread and fries.... two of the tenders are legitimately the size of the top of my little finger. .... so wouldn't not recommend the tender basket other than for an infant.
The $15 calzone is mostly dough bubble and not filled thoroughly. The chalupa tasted good but was also mediocre in terms of fillings or sauce.
The taller male running the cash register was not into doing his job or being accommodating, my phone was dead so I asked or his help with the check out screen letting him know my white cane was due to blindness. His response after I asked for help and why I needed help' just follow the directions."
If I could see the screen I would. I told him this and his response again was 'your choices are on the screen maybe it's asking what type o payment"
Really not impressed I ordered to go and the kitchen served it up as in house. After the rest of the food was made then they made the chalupa after which the food was corrected into Togo boxes... at that point it already wasn't warm so I'm glad it was...
Read moreMediocre pizza , and you need to clarify with your waitress exactly what you're ordering and how much its gonna cost before she sends it into the kitchen ! I ordered half and half, Canadian bacon and pineapple on half, mushrooms and onions on the other half... and got charged for a 4 ingredient pizza.! When I complained about the way they do math, I got three different explanations from two different people, (the manager and the waitress).! If they had actually piled on the ingredients and made it thick and tasty I wouldn't have complained at all , but it was really skimpy ! like I said in the first place mediocre Pizza, ridiculous pricing! ( And I know what I'm talking about, I'm a veteran Pizza slinger , having worked at 20 different places over the past 40 years ). My daughter was there with me . She is currently a waitress at Outback Steakhouse, she said they handled it all wrong.! The last thing the so called manager said to me was "welcome to Chama, thats the way we do things Up here" ! I wonder how the Better Business Bureau and the local chamber of commerce feel about that attitude. For the record Chama's a really neat little town but this place does not deserve your money ......
