My wife and I went to this restaurant in Chamblee after getting recommendations from some of our friends. The overall experience was disappointing and we do not plan to go there ever again and recommend no one go there as well. Save your time and money by going somewhere else.

First, the restaurant owner has no customer service skills. His tone and demeanor was very "don't care". He has no smile while serving. When we walked to our table, he did not tell us anything about the menu. Just handed it to us, was looking somewhere else while talking to us.

Secondly, when we ordered Aloo Paratha, we were told it does not come with yogurt unless we paid extra for the yogurt. This is the first time I have heard of this. When we asked, he said he would give this to us for free (as if he was doing us a favor).

Third, we asked him for pickle to go with the parantha. He got us a lot of pickle. When we received our bill, we noticed he had charged us $3.00 for the pickle. We were shocked to see pickle being charged. Never ever before I have seen a restaurant charge people for pickle. $3 seems too much too. He also did not tell us about the charge on the pickle when we asked for it. He should have told us about it -- it was not free and there was a charge for it.

When we got the bill, we thought that the food was overly priced and cost us much more for what we paid.

The restaurant owner also again had no smile and when getting the bill looked somewhere else when collecting the payment.

Given all this, we don't want to go back there again and would recommend all those reading please save your time and money and go...

My family and I have been coming here for years even when they moved. Never again! We had to pick our seat and have been ignored the entire time. We waited almost 20 minutes for drinks. The owner would come over and as soon as we say “we’re ready to order”, we would walk away and serve other people. We had to order our appetizers and our meals all at once because we didn’t know if he would ever come back. Then getting our appetizers took forever! Other people came before us and got served faster than us and we’re a table of four and table of five or six was in and out before we could get our dinner?! My father, my fiancé, and I got our food and my mother (who waited 1 hour and a half)didn’t get her until after we asked for boxes (We literally just ordered take out!) My father got mad and walked out because he asked another waiter to get the owner who kept ignoring us after the request. But the problem escalated when he came over to give us the To-go boxes and thrown them on top of our food. But y’all can clean up the table quicker than you serve us! My family and I refuse to come back. If they even want us to come back the service has to be better than today! This was pure garbage!

p.s- this is for the owner: DO NOT BLAME YOUR SON! He was not there! Work on communicating with your...

Besides a nightmarish encounter and horrible service, the food was pretty good.

I was obviously talking on the phone in my car with my window open before entering the restaurant, when the only server working came out and asked, “Are you waiting for someone?” quite pointedly. This was before 6 p.m. and no one else was in the restaurant. He didn’t move and waited for a response so I had to talk to him while I was on an important call.

Surprisingly, I decided to still eat here and the same waiter served me. He barely managed to respond to any question I asked and always seemed in a rush to do something else or avoid answering my questions about the food. He quickly suggested the most expensive items on the menu, and seemed disinterested in actually providing good service.

I obviously am biased, but I was made to feel unwelcome before I entered the restaurant, and nothing really changed my mind. According to another reviewer about how they handle the food, I will say I won’t be back. There are better and cheaper Indian restaurants that are sanitary. If I were you, I’d spend my money in a place that is better run, and avoid terrible service and possible...

Himalayas is delicious. Also, the owner is so sweet and funny and makes you feel so at home. Everyone who works there is so kind! We had a party of 5 at 7:30 on a Sunday night. It took a while for the food to come out, but the appetizers helped! They have a great patio for outdoor seating with cafe lighting! In the winter, they have heat lamps. There is street parking and also a lot off of Pierce Drive. Here's what we got: - Veggie Samosas ($6 for 2): Very good! The samosas were a good size too! - Chana Puri ($10): Good! - Panir Masala ($14): Delicious! After the samosas and the chana puri, we had some leftover! - Naan ($3, 2 orders): Sooo good, especially dipped in the masala sauce! They are very willing to customize dishes - one person got half tofu and half panir masala. Good prices, good food, good portions. Highly recommend!

Nice hidden gem in downtown Chamblee. We came around 9pm on the Thursday. We walked down the strip of restaurants and this was the only place still serving food. The menu is huge and neither one of us is familiar with the names of many Indian dishes so we asked the servers for their recommendations. They recommended two dishes. We got a lamb curry and another lamb dish. Both came with Naan and rice. We enjoyed both dishes. I liked the curry more but my friend liked the other lamb dish more. We both loved the Naan. We tired half garlic and half Cheese. We would definitely go back. We spent about $25 each (including tip).
