As a pursuer of fine delicacies, excellent services, and meaningful services, I often find myself utilizing Google reviews as a resource for recommendations. A person seeking a great experience can see through the eyes of others, the personalized experience that either supports or denies a particular business. At the core of this practice is this simple notion: Good restaurants should be praised and terrible restaurants should be criticized. Not with the intention to destroy a business, but to help the organization understand and recognize that perhaps these particular practices should be readdressed.
And I find the experience at Bluetop very troubling indeed. A family member of mine was extremely mistreated by this organization. They were disrespected and treated with malicious intent. A family member of mine brought two dogs, one of which had a little accident. Such can be expected of docile and innocent creatures. And truthfully, this is something a restaurant should expect when allowing pets on the premises. And of course, the simplistic remedy is just to clean up the poop, which they did. When approached by staff, however, my family member was met with aggressive and accusatory language, something not befitting of a restaurant with such a supposedly high reputation. My family member was threatened with management reviewing the cameras and further contemptuous words, despite an apology from the family member. Even though it was an accident by a scared and afraid pup, such would not calm the manager.
This is not acceptable. And what is more intriguing is how, following the incident, there was a rapid increase in positive feedback with superficial statements such as, "food is great!" or "the management is awesome!" as if the restaurant was attempting to overcompensate for this incident.
Regardless, be wary, dear friends, when bringing pets to this establishment. Also, think twice about eating here if this is the type of experience you wish to have. I am disappointed at this establishment, and I hope they can utilize this feedback as a means to improve. Consumers will flock to businesses that provide good food, great hospitality, and kindness. They will flee from places that treat their customers poorly....

First incident to note, a friend of ours repeatedly stated that he ordered his sandwich without tartar sauce. Arguably, no one knows if after the first time this was addressed if it was the same sandwich or otherwise, but the second time the server came around to drop his food off, insisted it was his despite tartar sauce clearly on the sandwich. Our friend extended grace, wiped off the tartar sauce and ate the food.
This is to set the tone that many of us are in high stress occupations that require being adept at interpersonal communication. We understand that things happen in busy situations, and where miscommunication arises, there is a standard of respect that is owed in the event things need to be cleared up.
An event occurred where another friend of ours’ dog pooped. Rightfully so, she cleaned it up, and when it was brought to her attention that there was more poop, she thought that it wasn’t her dog’s — given that she was under the impression she had cleaned up everything.
With a witness, the manager /rudely/ stated that it was her dog’s yet again, presumably after stating that he had checked the cameras. Our friend sincerely apologized because it was an honest mistake (if someone went to pick up after their dog, it doesn’t make any sense that they would conscientiously leave leftover poop). However, in response to our friend’s apology, the manager “KC” continued to belittle her (we are not above reproach, but we certainly do deserve respect) and stated that “maybe she should look around” and insinuated that this simple miscommunication was not his problem.
We confronted the manager only to be met with a half-hearted apology and not-so-subtle implication that our friend was being disingenuous and purposefully lied about leaving the poop behind. And instead of apologizing about his behavior directly to our friend, he apologized to… us?
Disheartening to hear that this is how a manager behaves. Young woman at the bar, however, was kind and a great asset to...

Went to order at the front, the woman order taker rudely said that ‘the kitchen is closed’ and pulled the menu away and threw it in the bin. She then became incredibly irritated out of the blue and asked ‘what do you want’ and ‘let’s go’. Meanwhile this was all within 5-10 seconds. So after trying to assess what the issue was with her either having a bad day or intoxicated not sure, I ordered one beer as I immediately realized this place doesn’t deserve our business. A friend was ordering a drink from this same woman and she slammed her fist down on the register venting some sort of frustration that was obviously going on in her head. So after some time witnessing her treat many other customers this same way, we decided to leave. As we were leaving, I wanted to ensure this arrogant woman closed out our tabs and she tried to shoo us away when asked to do so. Literally using hand gestures to go away and leave as if she wanted to ensure her tip was appropriately applied after the doors closed for what she believed she thought her (lack of) service entailed. We refused. She finally pulled mine up for the one beer and she said ‘oh $8, can’t wait to see that tip’. None of us could understand what triggered this woman so badly from the beginning but I’ve never been so disrespected in my life at any restaurant / bar and for what?! Her having a bad night for some reason so you take it out on customers just trying to have a nice evening? As a local resident I can tell you there are countless other places in the area that respect you and want to continue to earn your business. Even though they have decent food and ambiance, no one should be treated like she treated us along with the countless other customers that were simply trying to order some drinks. What a gem they have there! Go...
