Was visiting my sister and was so excited to go to dinner because we ate here last time and it was great. Unfortunately it seems as though the server we dealt with was not happy to be at work that day. Since this restaurant is “seat yourself” we walked in at about 4:30pm and it was not busy yet, we chose to sit outside. We sat outside for about 5 minutes and at that point I decided to go inside to ask for menus so we could start deciding what we wanted, (to be clear we were not in a hurry nor did we say anything about it taking long for service) I went to the server who was at the computer, I’m guessing putting in and order and asked “can I trouble you for a few menus?” To which she responded in the most condescending tone “ I will come to you, I’m with a table right now” and something else which I don’t remember because I was so taken aback by the way she responded to me. I said “ok” and went back to the table and told them I don’t feel great about eating here any longer, told them what happened and we decided to leave. Honestly, she saw us come in and could’ve said “hey I’ll be right with you guys” or poked her head out and acknowledged that she saw us and would be out in a few minutes. She also could’ve just handed me menus when I went in and asked for the menus that were right next to her so that way when she got back to the table, we would’ve known what we were wanting to eat. They must've given her the title of menu gatekeeper. I let her know on the way out we were leaving and she didn’t have to worry about us and she didn’t say one word. Service is everything for a restaurant and if that’s the first impression for someone coming in, they probably won’t be back, I work in a restaurant and know how frustrating it can be at times, but would never talk to a customer like that, especially over such a...
Read moreVintage serves the best best pizza I've ever tasted. They use fresh ingredients and there own secret sauce. It's New York style pizza with a thin crust. However, they make their own dough and the crust is supple and delicious all on it's own. (I had an unfortunate experience once where my little nephew picked all the toppings off my pizza. I ate the crust anyway and it was still delicious.) I've also tried their grilled chicken salad served with their own house dressing and their quarter pound burger plate. I don't know what they do to it exactly, but it's the best I've ever tasted. The atmosphere is really cool too. It reminds me of those old fashioned Irish pubs. However, even though they have a bar in the center of the restaurant, they are family friendly. The nice thing is that they have the seating sectioned off so that families are in one section and if you prefer a quieter dining experience, you can sit in the adults only section on the other side of the restaurant. Vintage is almost always busy, but I prefer to go during off peak hours as finding parking during peak hours is almost impossible. I'm disabled, so I can't really park to far away. My only complaint is that I sometimes have use a wheelchair and because it's usually so crowded, it is not wheelchair friendly. However, I have no issues maneuvering around when I'm using my sticks. The staff is always very friendly and accommodating and have even carried my order for me back to my car. I do wish that Vintage delivered. I'd never order from anywhere else again. On second thought, maybe it's a good thing that they don't deliver, I'd probably...
Read moreI've gotten takeout and delivery from Vintage Pizzeria and each time it's been fantastic! I've been searching for great Italian food since Scalini's closed, it was my favorite Italian restaurant in Atlanta. The first time we got delivery. We ordered spaghetti bolognese, Fettucini Alfredo with shrimp and spinach, and salads. It was review worthy. The bolognese was perfect, the pasta was al dente, (yes, overcooked pasta is a crime), the sauce was well balanced, slightly meaty, not sweet, not acidic and the right ratio of sauce to pasta. I ordered meatballs (which come as an appetizer) but ate them a different day. The bolognese was perfect. The meatballs were really tasty as well. I tasted the shrimp Alfredo and it was really rich and creamy, again with al dente pasta, and lovely spinach. The garlic bread was a surprise...it was just garlic bread... no cheese, big thick pieces of buttery, garlic bread...hallelujah!!!!!! The salads were great as well. The second time was takeout. We got pizza which was also fantastic. The crust is thinner and has a very good taste. Again we got salads and had a really good dinner. Bottom line, I will order from Vintage Pizzaria again... and you...
