I just got done eating here, and Thomas was my server.
The restaurant was not busy, whatsoever. 2 tables, 1 with 4 guests and another with just 1 guest, and now me. It took someone (Thomas) awhile to come greet/seat me. He came from the kitchen, and reeked of cigarette smoke. That should have been my cue to just leave.
He seats me, asks about a drink and I asked for a water, grabs my water and carries on, as he sees I’m still looking at the menu. I was ready to order and I referred to the onions on the Jalapeño Kick Burger and told him I (please) do not want grilled onions, just raw purple (I said red) and a side of ranch. He claimed he didn’t think it came with onions, but i told him I was just here and had it for the first time a few days ago. (But to his defense, the menu doesn’t state that they are grilled onions, I remember thinking that, too when I had received my order on that day.) And I showed him the menu, and he said, “oh okay, I’ll put it in.” Cool no problem. He must be new, I get it. I was a server once, too.
Maybe 10 or so mins later he came w my order. Everything was right except the onions. They were grilled.
So as he came back from collecting my plate, he THEN brought up the onions, saying he saw that they were grilled onions on my burger, and I said “Yeah…” and he could tell I was displeased. And what he said next was just disappointing even more…
“I HAD ASKED THE COOK if the onions were grilled and if they were white and he told me no, they’re not cooked and that THEY ARE YELLOW. They weren’t red, but I should have still came and told you. I’m so sorry about that.”
I’m most certain the cook WHO PREPARES the food, would tell you exactly what comes on the dish! There’s NO WAY he drops him the onions weren’t grilled. Let’s be for real.
What was displeasing was someone (I feel he came from the back? He had an iHop bag) had asked if the table (of 4) had tipped him and it sounded like he said no, they’re also in here like every night… he sounded disappointed? Like wait? Your job isn’t just to take orders/serve the food and disappear from time on end… it’s what he basically did. So someone came from outside and tipped him $30.00! And he was like, “What? For real? Good looking, man. God bless you.” I’m seated right behind the brown furniture with the syrup and whatever else.
I had inquired about my ticket bc it seemed higher than when I came in on the 29th, I had ordered the same thing except I had gotten a cold brew then, but today I had just a water. (Darian was amazing ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 for him.) but it was actually higher last time than this time lol but what he said next was like, really? “I’m shocked Darian charged you for the drink, usually he doesn’t do that bc he’s a manager.” He didn’t just say it once, but twice and the second time i said, “That’s okay? He’s doing his job!” Then he tried to bring up the burger saying, “you really liked the burger huh?” I replied, “it was alright… bc of the onions.
He was deflecting and really trying to take the heat off of him, by throwing his ppl (the cook, and Darian) under the bus. Just sad. Do...
Read moreThis IHOP is not the first we have ever visited whether it is in our home state of AZ or other states that we have been to... However, the experience that we had this morning at this location will make us think twice about visiting another IHOP and this particular location is a forever NO. It took over 40 minutes from the time we placed our order for it to reach our table on a Monday morning on the 10 o'clock hour. My other half ordered sirloin tips and eggs and substituted the pancakes with plain crepes. He ordered the sirloin with no onions and ordered his eggs poached. The meat tasted of onions as if it was cooked with them and then picked out before serving, and some pieces of the meat were cooked and some pieces were raw. His poached eggs appeared to be poached, but as soon as he put his fork into it, it was like a hard boiled egg. The crepes tasted like they were made from just flour and water. My son had the french toast off the kids menu which came with scrambled eggs; the french toast was burnt on the bottom side and eggs were like rubber. I had the Cage-Free Egg White Veggie Omelette... the avocado that came on top was on the verge on being rotten as you can see from the pic. There was no cheese and it was pretty much half cooked spinach that hadn't been washed with a little bit of egg white from the couple bites that I took. None of us finished our meal. I am so happy the waitresses had time to spray and smell each others perfume as one of them was clearing the table behind us... I am sure my other half appreciated going into his office smelling of women's perfume. In conclusion, go to any other IHOP or another restaurant all together... It was the biggest waste of $40+ for the 3 of us to eat that we...
Read moreVery poor management unfortunately. Very nice very friendly people but a total mess :( I went in for an interview at 10am Monday morning, I am a restaurant manager at a very similar style restaurant so I was reading the room from the moment I got there. Walk in and there were dirty windows and a lot of customers waiting considering how empty their dining room was. It was at least 20 minutes before I was even greeted, as I see customers and delivery drivers in there looking impatient and irritated with the wait times for a place that was not visibly busy? I watched a couple that had ordered to go food get up and leave as they could not wait any longer. After 45+ minutes of patiently and politely waiting for the manager I was told to come back at 1pm, as I could tell the staff was struggling I really didn’t mind and did just that, as well as call 15 minutes before to double check it was still a good time. I arrive back at 1pm and was kindly greeted by who I think was the host and she helped me right away but unfortunately the manager was busy again so I waited patiently 10 minutes, no big deal. Manager never asked over previous phone calls what position I was applying for so I assumed not only by the calls but also by the way they were so behind when I went in that they were hiring all positions. As soon as I sat down for the interview and was asked my position(was applying to serve part time) I was told they are not even hiring servers…This is something that should have been addressed before I wasted an unnecessary amount of time to not even proceed with an interview. Very unprofessional and sloppy :( I’m sure the food is great tho! Wanted to try some but didn’t have 2 extra hours to...
